Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary Cafe

One of my favorite places to visit is a wonderful sanctuary filled with saved animals, including horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, birds, alpacas, and pigs. Although the café no longer serves meals at regular times, they now offer a selection of sandwiches, pasties, hummus with pita chips, snacks, cakes, and a variety of cold and hot drinks. Admission is now free, so every penny spent in their shop or café goes towards their wonderful cause. I enjoyed my lunch here, and it was very affordable.

To be fair, I should have checked that they only operate a limited snack bar, but I didn’t expect to find pre-packaged, frozen supermarket food available (like Ginsters vegan pastries!). The selection was poor, and everything was served cold. I’ll give it another try next year to see if it returns to its pre-COVID quality.

Practical caffe with vegan friendly food and drinks. menu not huge or fancy, but enough for a meal or a snack to refresh after visiting the beautiful animals. I was in a hurry. it was yam.

This place is absolutely incredible! It’s an all-vegan café located within the Sanctuary. You don't have to visit the animals, but who would want to skip that? For a small fee, you can see all the rescued animals. Otherwise, you can just relax and enjoy a completely vegan menu, which includes to-die-for ice creams and chocolate cakes. Not only do you get delicious home-cooked food, but you’re also supporting a fantastic cause.
