My family loves this place absolutely! Great people, great food. Prices are comparable to other Chinese restaurants. I hope they will be open again soon, because we urgently need a solution. View all feedback.
Not vegetarian, but all their foods are great every time! Service is great and she is always beautiful and welcoming and always knows who I am when I ride. Prices are reasonable and portions are beautifully large. We usually get chicken w/Veggies, beef w/Veggies but substitute garlic sauce. Soups are good off everything else we have tried has never disappointed. I wouldn't think about real meat options, but I know that's probably against her whole subject. Very recommended!

I was flipping through Happy Cow to see if anywhere near would have an option or two for me. Imagine my surprise at finding this little hidden gem in this area. The place is just tiny only about 4-5 tables and they recommend you do take out since they don't have AC. We ended up eating in the car but it was definitely worth it. We're not from the area so we loaded up just to be sure! Everything was wonderful. The general tso's chicken was a really tough, like eating jerky but the flavor was good. I got to have wontons for the first time in decades so that was nice. The hot and sour soup was exactly like I remember and so delicious. I got the tenderloin and it was our favorite, the flavor and texture was great! And they get a non dairy cheesecake that is sooooo good, I'm glad I got 2 slices! Everything we got was so tasty that I'll happily travel the 45 minutes to visit again soon!
What an amazing gem of a find this place was and even that in Reading, Pennsylvania. I urge all vegan and vegetarian food lovers to visit this place especially if you are fan of mock meats like we are. This looks like a small mom and pop restaurant. The interior is very normal like any Chinese restaurant but its the food that caught us off guard. We ordered carrot and ginger juice which was prepared fresh. We could hear the blender. For appetizers we had salt and pepper chicken tenders and deep fried wontons. Dinner was General Tso’s chicken and basil soy protein. Everything was flavorful and very different. We really enjoyed. I urge people especially vegans and vegetarians and mock meat lovers to try Chen. Keep it up guys. We will definitely stop by when passing thru Reading.
Be careful! You might just be addicted. My husband and I spent over $1000 here in the last two years. We drive all the way from Allentown because we can't find such a number of amazing vegetarian Asian food anywhere closer and believe that we have tried. Here's a photo of our last haul. We always get enough to keep for at least 3 or 4 dinners.
