We found the food marginal, Mac Donald 's dow... read more Not sure how the reviews on MacArthur 's Riverview Restaurant are so Good. My husband and I experienced different. We found the food marginal, Mac Donald 's down the street would have been 10X better. 'YUCK! ' We ordered our food from a young blond waitress, whom took a very long while to take our order. As a matter of fact, if I hadn 't asked her, 'can you take our order? ' She would have even stopped to do so, imaginable. When our burgers arrived at the table after what seemed like 45 minutes, my burger was completely wrong. Having asked for a Medium burger, with a little blood, what came was rare meat. (HUGE dissapointment) Ordering no Cheese, burger had cheese. Meat itself, as my husband and I agreed was not very good. Environment was nice. Reason given why service was so slow, a Wedding was taking place. Obviously an unorganized, low staffed kitchen unprepared with customers during 4th of July Weekend. Suggestion: Eat at Mac Donald 's down the street, better food.

We ordered other guest started coming in only 1 server with the hostess helping out after tables near us started to complain!! Waitress took our order andnever came back the hostess brought out good the ginger ale was flat the meal cold !! No one asked us how everything was !!Plus the waitress seemed confuse about order! Kinda ruined our anniversary dinner

Champagne was very slow and we had to ask 3x. Tea was Lipton (lame). Penne vodka was tasteless. Waffles with bananas foster wasexcellent but employee behind the counter was clearly unhappy to be there, rolled her eyes and would not serve ???? Servers atthe one omelette and carving station were super friendly an wonderful ????

The restaurant's name is misleading; you can only enjoy a river view if you sit on the porch. The service was decidedly poor; our waitress was unable to provide details about the buffet offerings or inform us which starch and vegetable would accompany our entrees. We waited over 30 minutes for our meals. The first cup of coffee was barely lukewarm, and the second cup, which was freshly brewed, was served in a coffee mug without a saucer. Having a 50+ year connection with West Point, we brought civilian friends here for what we hoped would be a lovely dinner, but it turned out to be a major disappointment and embarrassment.

The patio offers a stunning view of the river, adding to the ambiance. While it is on the pricey side, I believe it's worth the cost for a lunch or dinner, especially if you plan to savor the evening.
