What jared hall doesn't like about Steak 'n Shake:
If you are used to steak and shake... you may be sorely disappointed. Self serve, not enough staff. Not a normal steak and shake. Second steak and shake I've been to that had no a1 View all feedback.
I ordered here on last Sunday through the drive through. I get to the window to pay and a female in a Hawaiin looking shirt bent over and I saw the entire chest. Her nipples was very right there when she bent over to grab the money and hand out the food. All the phone numbers that I have tried are all no longer in service. I have called at least 10 places trying to get to talk to a higher up person about the issue but have gotten no where. And my daughter seen it as well. If anybody knows how to get ahold of someone with the Steak N Shake in West Plains Missouri I could use the help. Thanks Crystal

My wife and I ate there last week each had a combo meal paid with card. While we were getting drinks a woman who worked there in the back came to me and said we didn't pay or our card didn't go thru. I pulled out my receipt that I had to ask for when ordering and said according to my receipt I paid. She said oh well would you come to the counter. She showed us to the counter then went into the back. After several minutes I stopped her as she was bringing out an order and asked if she found out what was going on with my order she was very nonchalant said oh it was someone else. Never even apologized for the inconvenience very rude. After eating I ordered 2 shakes to go the guy behind the counter said I will bring them out to you after I asked for my receipt a second time. After seven minutes I went back to the counter and asked where our shakes were with my receipt. He said oh I'm sorry I forgot who ordered them and had to remake them. I waited at the counter the second time. The food was good quality the shakes were very thin not thick at all. Service terrible worst service at any steak and shake that I ever had in any state.
This steak and shake experience was bad. The food...cardboard...the drinks dry ..the water dry...the service...dry...the workers didn't speak...the workers didn't work...the bathroom tissue dispenser was empty but the massive roll was there for me to constantly pick it up and keep unrolling it. The paper towel dispenser was empty had to keep touching what other people had touched...I don't care if they say that COVID is over I don't want to touch what others have touched with their nasty hands, that's unsanitary. This store was not so busy they couldn't fill the dispenser, they weren't working much at all, they even took the time to sing in the kitchen. I'm used to steak n shake cooks coming out to greet me and ask how the food was, since they've updated the place even the service has hanged along with the food. The menu...where has all the great food choices gone to? I won't be back. They could stand to do so much better.
We came in around 7pm after a long trip from Branson with another 1-1/2 to go to get home. Went in and it was a good 5 minutes until someone noticed us at the counter, they took our order. First they offered my husband something different to drink than coffee because no one there knew how to make coffee. Then they brought out our bag and it was only my husband’s burger. I had to go to the counter and ask for the rest of our meal. We were missing a chili-mac, a cup of chili and an order of onion rings. They were confused we had our ticket. So they went to make them. (Keep in mind there were 5 workers and the two boys we just standing around) they then brought out the rest of our food but had forgotten the onion rings. So I finally received them. They were very polite but inefficient. We took our food and got on our way. My husband’s burger was so salty he couldn’t eat it. We hope that the service improves.
