Madeira Fish - West Oxfordshire

This fish and chip shop is absolutely superb. Fish is always fresh with crispy batter, chips great, never greasy or soggy. Best chip shop for miles around.

Rude staff. Poor food. I don’t know who the staff in this place think they are, but talking to your customers like they’re idiots is a guaranteed way to ensure they don’t come back to buy your low quality greasy food and travel a little further to go some decent with staff who treat their customers with respect.

Have purchased fish and chips from this shop a few times since it was taken over by the current owners and we have always been please. As we have to travel a few miles to get here it is great that we can phone and place an order in advance so that it is waiting when we arrive. We generally have the haddock as this is excellent and freshly cooked to order. The friendly welcome makes it even more pleasant. Would definitely recommend

Bought Large cod and chips today, small bit of fish surrounded by a large slab of batter, I suspect it had been re-fried from lunch time as what fish there was, was very dry, the chips also appeared to have been reheated. Very poor, I will not be back.

If I fancy a chippy tea on one of my regular trips to Witney, then always come here. Tried others, but this is the best one for me. Lovely fish and chips, generous portions (and I'm a greedy northerner), fair prices and always pleasant, friendly service from the young couple running it. Top Drawer!
