Tortellini was a bit too dough-y for me, but their cheese ravioli along with their fresh, dried pasta, was delicious. I wouldn’t go back to the store, as you can find the pasta in a few Big Y’s in town.
Shhhh I will tell you one of the best kept secrets. Did you ever wonder how the homemade pasta is so delicious at your favorite restaurant? Most of the really wonderful restaurants get their homemade pasta from a little shop founded in 1985 on 78 Fenwick St. in West Haven Connecticut called Durante's Pasta. You too can now duplicate your favorite pasta dishes! Durante's sells dry pasta and frozen pasta and the variety is absolutely astonishing. There are my favorite dry pastas which includes pappardelle, fettuccine, linguine, spaghetti and capellini. The frozen pastas that are totally irresistible are their spinach manicotti, cheese ravioli, lobster ravioli, and cheese tortellini. My newest favorite item is their homemade marinara sauce that can go up against anybody's grandmothers' recipe. It is divine. All good chefs know that perfect meals begin with the best ingredients. Your guests will think you are the most phenomenal host using these ingredients from Durante's!
