Love this place! We got a blood orange pound cake slice and their focaccia breakfast sandwich. Both were incredible but highly recommend the sandwich! It’s inside the gastropark so it’s nice to be able to get a coffee along with breakfast. The line gets crazy here so go early. What H P doesn't like about Small State Provisions:
Terrible decision. We ordered items that were clearly on display. Waited 20 minutes and then watched as others received there items after we were then to be told sorry we ran out. We were charged too. They did offer a refund but that is unacceptable. View all feedback.
Farmington Valley won the bakery lottery when Small State opened in Avon!
The egg sandwich on focaccia is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had! The first time I ordered it I was skeptical because there was no meat or protein other than the egg, but this sandwich doesn’t need it. The deliciously creamy egg and sriracha mayo paired with the peppery arugula and herbaceous bread is just perfection. I’m literally addicted! Side note, if the owner sees this and wants to share the secret for getting the eggs so creamy and fluffy, please feel free to share! I’ve tried to replicate with no success lol.
I absolutely love Small State. This bakery is amazing. The owner and baker, Kevin, is so kind and welcoming... I feel like we're friends, even though he doesn't really know me. He just seems very genuine and kind, and I love the spaces he has created- their stall at Gastropark and their Avon location.Anyway, their baked goods are ahhhmazing. I'm not much of a bread person, because bread is not my thing, but theirs look beautiful and my friends enjoy them. My favorite things are their chia pudding cups, cheddar pecan scones, GF pound cake slices, muffins, and, the ultimate- the potato gallette. The potato gallette is life changing... Believe me when I say it is crave-worthy. Not sure if I truly believe in the afterlife, but if there is one, I really hope it is filled with Small State potato gallettes.Finally, so happy they have a space in Avon where they serve espresso-based drinks with real-deal, legit baristas who know what they're doing and great coffee! And...they're open on Sundays!! I feel like a lot of bakeries aren't, so I am so grateful for that. Anyway, go there! It's a fabulous place filled with delicious things and nice people.
Absolute best egg sandwich in the region. I stand by this whole heartedly. Excellent service and appreciation for their craft. Do not miss out on this baked goods gem in central CT.
