Visited twice in 5 days, once in the more formal eating areas and once in the bar area, same menu, we only ate fish and it was excellent, well presented, tasty and good sized portions. Many thanks View all feedback.
What Stephen B doesn't like about The Boat House At The Marina:
The appetizers were decent. The fish and chips were bland, lukewarm, and greasy. One waitress was pleasant, while the other was not as friendly. Despite having a large kitchen staff, the service was oddly slow. This restaurant has potential to be much better. The view outside is stunning. It would be wise to dine elsewhere. View all feedback.
A very average meal. Nothing special. Very overpriced which upon first inspection seems to fit with a 5 star hotel however £18 for a cocktail seems over the top. On arrival we weren't greeted well and were then seated at a table with a chair that had ripped upholstery. Our drinks arrived which was the incorrect order and water wasn't poured for us. The waitress dumped a jug of water at the table. The toilets were messy with poo and toilet paper and some toilets had not been flushed. In the centre of Glasgow this restaurant could get away with being average but when you consider how much people are paying to stay at the hotel, sometimes up to 500 a night, the service and standard does not measure up. Go to gleneagles hotel instead!
Casual vibe. Staff were friendly, burgers good but fries very basic, no triple cooked chips here. The room was a little chilly and the chairs frayed. Not really what we were expecting.
Just back from another week at Cameron House and had two visits to the Boat House. On both occasions the food was good, the staff helpful and friendly and the atmosphere nice and relaxed.
The place was freezing turns out the heating has been broken for a while but didn’t get in touch with customers to let them know. We just abandoned our plans and went to the restaurant at the Carrick golf club. Food there was 3/10, service awful. Cameron House seems to have lost the plot we thought that when we stayed her earlier in the year but wanted to give a 2nd chance. Won’t be back any time soon.
We are frequent visits of Cameron House/Club and thought we would try the boathouse for once. The interior of the boathouse is lovely and decorated tastefully. We came for lunch on a quiet weekend day. Upon arrival we had to source someone to give us menus and eventually someone came to take our order. We ordered a burger and katsu chicken. Both were average and didn't have much flavour. We then had to go up and ask for the bill. Service charge was automatically added despite service being poor and non-existence. We wouldn't return, there are nicer restaurants around the resort.
