Great atmosphere, the ribs were very tough and not tender at all, very disappointing. Good sides though.
Food was good, but they charge 18% gratuity for take out...well sometimesSaturday and Monday night Trisha was answering the phone and added 18% to take out order, Sunday night a much more pleasant hostess took my take out order and let me decide what and if I should pay a gratuity on take out...will never order from them again!
Your Dover Forge experience might as well be provided by a random number generator. We’ve been about six times, first three were great, next three were sub par. Food is generally good BBQ but the wait times can be horrific, accompanied by service staff who are hard to track down.Don’t arrive hungry, sit outside near the fire pit, you will probably have a really good time.
Absolutely incredible. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. The smoker is on point, incredible creamy mac and cheese, perfect brisket chili. The Vermont beer selection was excellent as was the vast array of delicious BBQ sauces that were brought to our table unsolicited. The service was also amazing. A
Unbelievably terrible experience all around. Nothing redeeming. Waited nearly two hours for below average food and absolutely zero empathy from any of the staff. I would not recommend this godawful excuse for a restaurant to my worst enemy.We had a reservation for a nice dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Showed up and they couldn’t find the reservation...a few minutes go by and they figure it out, but not without giving us a scare. Between waters, wine and food orders we talk to 4 different wait staff. It’s unclear who our server is or why it is so convoluted. We finally order dinner. They’re out of ribs. Okay that’s kind of like McDonald’s running out of fries... but it’s a big holiday that’s fine. We make no fuss and simply order something else.An hour goes by and we do not once hear from our waiter, or anyone. No word on what’s going on, no apologies , no explanation, no offer of bread or drinks or anything to help us out in the meantime. Finally 75minutes since we ordered ...and an hour and a half after we arrived , we hear that it’ll be out in just a minute. Ten additional minutes later and we finally have our below average and half cold food. After finishing some of the food, waiting longer and longer and finally flagging down someone to help, we finally get our bill.... we find that not only has nothing been comped, no apology was offered, and the best part, wait for it....insult to injury, they have charged our table of 6 a full 20% for gratuity. I kindly ask if there’s anything they can do given our poor experience. They say they’ll ask a manager. 10 minutes later we get the bill back again, nothing has changed, no apology, and it’s clear they didn’t care and likely intentionally waited the extra ten minutes to give us our cards back just because we asked. Crazy. I’ve had better service (and food) at a Popeyes. And Popeyes is $275 cheaper.
