first visit, but definitiw will not be the last. the staff was beautiful and very friendly. large menu for selection. I had the braut, speck and cranberry panini and mom had jacket kartoffel with cheese and coleslaw. a lot on the plate and tasted amazing. never had a panini that was so full and tasty, it could not eat everything, but could take half of the house with me, which was great. recommend this place if they... Didn 't stay there only stopped for Sunday lunch. Food good but disappointed to be charged £2 for a gravy boat because the Sunday roast meal only had a splash of gravy. When I asked for apple sauce to go with my roast pork, the waitress asked me whether it was on the menu! I had to bite back the retort bring me the menu and I shall read it to you. I guess everywhere is suffering from staff shortages because of the fa... View all feedback.
Went he for food and drinks and was looking forward to a nice evening together. But evening landed up being a disaster. Overly priced drinks and the food was rubbish ! Wanted nearly £19 for burger and chips which I didn’t mind as was expecting something plump and juicy with nice chips and a decent side. Instead got a squashed burnt burger with overly cooked chips and nothing else ! Absolute disgrace. Avoid at all cost .
Last night of holiday, looked attractive from outside, ordered food for x3 people sat in garden after 45mins told order not gone to kitchen had to wait longer, came inside as no lighting put on, no offers of free drink or dessert for waiting so long, tuna steak under cooked, seafood linguine tasteless and this was with only a handful of people in pub, spent £80!! We holiday regularly to west bay, will never return to this pub again far too overpriced and we wasn't even asked how our meals were
My cousins stayed there. While the bar staff were nice and welcoming, the apparent manager, ginger bearded Scottish guy, got hysterical at 1035, screaming that he’d said’time’ three times and we were ignoring him and saying we were disrespectful and. Worse still calling us ‘guys’ when two of us are women. Clearly wanted to pack up and get out with no customer service passion or care. Disappointing for Palmers who usually run good pubs
Outstanding Burger. The best my Husband and I think we have ever tasted. My seafood linguine was a delight because it wasn’t in the standard white wine sauce you get everywhere. Young lady behind the bar was a pleasure to interact with. Completely recommend a visit.
We've eaten here in the past when we go to visit an elderly relative in West Bay. On this occasion, we ate at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. The pub was moderately busy, but it was a wet and windy night! We both had fish and chips which was okay. Portion size was adequate, but if you're a big, hungry man, it wouldn't necessarily be enough. Fish was quite nice, but chips a little underwhelming in my opinion. What I found extremely annoying was the addition of a 10% service charge automatically applied to the bill. It wasn't even mentioned by the member of staff. I always get it removed. If I want to add a tip, I will decide how much, not the restaurant thank you very much!!! My husband was slightly surprised when I paid the bill as it was. He queried it when we were outside, and I said I had paid the service charge because they had missed of a pint of beer and a large glass of red, so it was reasonable value, and one up to me! We won't return in the future.
