Contribute FeedbackThe George, a local hostelry in a village setting, offers a warm welcome but has mixed reviews. Despite some negative experiences with cleanliness, slow service, and inconsistent food quality, there are positive highlights. The staff can be friendly and accommodating, providing excellent service and engaging with customers. A varied menu caters to different tastes, with standout dishes like the chicken and ham pie receiving praise. The pub itself offers a cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating options. While there are areas of improvement, The George remains a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, with potential for an enjoyable dining experience.
So I went there and asked separately cooked, his on the same grill as meat sorry for all vegans that this happy eat I asked before they said they scratched their before not clean scraped luck getting meat juice and parts meat fat completely with a light scraped inaccessible really should know better
I myself and my partner had the vegan curry, it was a small part, and could say it was a frozen meal. It was okay, not great. dessert had no vegan options.
The two vegan options on the menu that we tried seemed to be directly from the freezer. there are no vegan desserts or child dishes and after the request the bar staff were cured and departed. this pub should not really be on happy cow.
Had a nice vegan chili tonight. was so satisfied to see vegan options.
Food was disappointing. We ordered gammon steak and when it arrived it was so thin, more like a piece of bacon. No honey could be tasted. Very noisy when large groups moved chairs around tables. The prices were above average for the food quality.
