Recent visitors have praised its excellent locally sourced food, refreshing drinks, and warm atmosphere, making it an attractive stop after long hikes. While some guests experienced challenges with reservations, many enjoyed the friendly service and delectable Sunday roasts, particularly the homemade pies. Overall, The Tors is seen as a must-visit destination for those seeking hearty meals and a welcoming environment, perfect for both casual drop-ins and special occasions in a picturesque setting.
Excellent Sunday roast in a family friendly village pub. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert too! There is a reason you need to book in advance as both sittings appeared full.
Absolutely incredible vegan burger with vegan cheese and Mayo. Highly recommend other vegan options and lovely soup too! Lovely owners
And a terrific team who run the place. Proper and friendly pub. Just what you need on a dreary, drizzly Dartmoor day. And dogs are welcome.
Visited with friends for Sunday Roast and it was absolutely delicious! Tender, tasty meat (2 x pork 2 x beef) and a variety of fresh veg, including the most scrumptious cauliflower cheese and humongous Yorkshire puddings . The portions are big but we all managed to eat every morsel after a walk on Dartmoor. Sundays are busy, book ahead to avoid disappointment.
We spent the afternoon in The Tors inn after finding it by chance and had dinner on Saturday, then Sunday lunch either side of camping on Dartmoor. The pub was super busy but the staff were friendly and squeezed us in, the food was excellent and the beers were very good. I definitely plan to visit again when I am in the area.
