We went out today and were excited to have lunch at this restaurant we've been craving for a while. However, we found out when we arrived at noon on this May bank holiday that the restaurant, now called 'Larder', was closed. We were relieved to discover online that they will be open tomorrow. The last time we were here the food and the service was fantastic so we were excited to come back. I will say we will not be coming back again. The roast dinner roll in a box was mediocre at best but the service was woeful. Amazing coffee and the service was incredibly friendly, even with the restaurant being busy. It's clear that they put effort into all aspects of their business, and I can't wait to return!
A great cafe and deli. Superb coffees, with a tempting selection of excellent cakes. On the go breakfast and lunch options are great, and a really good selection of well kept and well chosen cheeses and other cold foods. To complete the picture, such a lovely, friendly staff.

If you don't want to make an effort to be civil and provide good customer service get another job. You have just cost your manager/owner a poor review.
Second visit recently on a Sunday where they aren't doing roasts in box. They're doing rolls with roast meat however this results in nice meat with a soggy roll, no thanks. Maybe this is why the shop had no queue and was deathly quiet. Normally when the roasts are on it is manic.
I attempted to visit this restaurant several times for their cakes, but ended up giving up. I finally managed to get in, and I must say, the cakes were a bit expensive but absolutely exceptional. They had the best Belgian buns I have ever tasted.
