I drive all the way from Boone just to get their amazingly fresh Salad Bar, great variety of soups like my favorite Chicken Tortilla, and delicious desserts!! Outside of having super fresh veggies to build your own salad from, we also love the different pasta salads, potato salad, and coleslaw, all made fresh! Of course no meal is complete without a dessert like chocolate chip cannoli or tiramisu, they even have vegan desserts if you want that sort of thing. We stock up a few soups and salads and keep them in the fridge for longer than you'd think, sometimes. They even accept EBT as long as it's cold foods, nothing hot. TIP Put your salad dressings in the 1 oz cups with lids, instead of on your salad, and they won't weigh your salad down, since the price is per pound!!
Missing items, lots of shelves were low. I was looking for whole nutmeg nut. They didn't have any. They have their salad bar and soup area open. They had good covid safety guidelines in place. Prices are high on some items, others were fair prices. I did find a couple of things. Disappointed that the bakery didn't have my favorite raspberry bar.
Even on Easter, the great workers were very giving helpful. So nice and comforting on holidays to know one can depend on Whole Food Market. Josh Boyd in produce was 'godsent angel with his heartfelt help for my specific questions regarding healthiest substitute for tonight 's vegan stir fry with desert pudding made from Whole Foods Market ' silken-tofu. Always a pleasure to come to Whole Foods Market!
This is the place I go when I have an unique item in a recipe. They bring things to Des Moines that we wouldn't have without them. I don't do my normal shopping here as it is on the other side of town from where I live, but like I said before it is the go to place to find things to expand your culinary journey.
Whole Foods is always a great experience! There meat and seafood counter is always on point with quality items! They always have the Chilean Seabass which we make with a lemon and capers white wine reduction on special occasions you can get everything in the recipe here and it is to die for!!!
