Just started my new job at Regis hair salon. Valley West has a lot to offer. So far I got a positive vibe from there. Lots of good food restaurants like Blaze Pizza , Jimmy Johns Taco Johns , Chipolte . and others. They are getting a Chalet restaurant and bar opening in Nov, so that's good. I I'll be doing some exploring . I saw a Kitchen shop. They also have good anchor stores Penneys , Younkers and Von Maur. I thin... View all feedback.

I live south of Des Moines in Warren County. Since Southridge is a shell of its former self, Valley West continues to be the best choice. Highway 5 bypass for Carlisle and Indianola and or up 63rd street Norwalk. Just off I-235 a few blocks. Better parking and navigation than Jordan Creek. Less congested by city traffic than Merle Hay in my opinion. A good selection of stores to shop in. Still has a good amount of businesses around the mall to shop at also. Valley West Mall has continues to keep up the parking lot ,unlike Merle Hay, and keep the place clean and well maintained. Driving and navigation around the mall is simple unlike Jordan Creek that has a number of 5 and 6 lane intersections to and around it. Traffic is a nightmare during certain times. The parking garage is very welcome ether in a hot summer of cold winter. No matter where you park you feel that it isn't a hike across town to get inside Valley West. I swear it felt like I parked in Walkee the last time I was at Jordan Creek Mall. Valley West Mall has a lot to offer. The place was full and it looked like people were buying during my last visit.
To be honest is the only male shop at between here and maybe even Merle Hay.... Definitely feels great to shop local eat local and support my local community. Not to mention the lines are never too big prices and the great deals are on a daily. To top it all off I have been here so much people in the stores feel more like friends and family half the time they know me by name. I will say the best part about all is the holiday season they know how to put the grand stage as being Santa Claus and the holiday figures. Overall one of the best nights if you are a family and you're trying to find something for your kids to do. They actually have something already there for you once a week they have family night.
Stopped in, shopped at bit, sat a bit and then went home. I love that they have comfortable places to sit and relax and people watch. And I always find things to buy at Pennys
The mall and the staff are really nice and friendly. The mall reminds me of back home Lakeline mall in Austin Texas or Barton creek mall just without the build a bear workshop or Apple Store
