In Des Moines, there are several cupcake shops that offer vegan choices, but Scratch stands out as the only one that offers more unique flavors beyond plain chocolate or vanilla. Their selection includes options like German chocolate, mocha, s'mores, and almond, which have all been consistently delicious. A friend of mine once placed a special order for a couple dozen s'mores cupcakes for a camping trip, and they were a hit with both vegans and non-vegans alike.

Every time I visit they knock it out of the park! I have ordered several times for work events, and personal events/parties. The flavor selection is wonderful, and they taste amazing too! Wedding cake is a fave flavor of mine!
These cupcakes are incredible! Although they are a bit expensive and there are not many specials available, they could improve by adding some decorations to make them more visually appealing. The atmosphere inside could also be made cozier, even though the business is small.
I wouls give 10 stars, but it's just 5th Best Cupcakes EVER.
