Dahlia - West Covina

I booked a reservation for Mother's Day lunch through OpenTable and received a confirmation via email. I even called the phone number provided to inquire about the menu the day before. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, I discovered that it was closed. OpenTable, please consider removing this restaurant from your online reservation system as they no longer serve lunch and only open for dinner after 5 pm.

We made a last-minute reservation at Dahlia for Mother's Day dinner as we thought Sunday would be too busy. We randomly chose this restaurant based on its fair Yelp ratings and newness. The restaurant itself is pretty, clean, and has a nice dining area separate from the bar. We ordered family-style dishes to share, but found that each dish only really fed 3 people (we are a family of 8). The portions were tiny for the price, and they were served one at a time with at least a 10-minute wait in between. The meat even came before the rice. When we ordered one dish a second time because it was gone so quickly, we found that the eggplant was cut differently than the first plate, which was odd. There was no consistency with their own dishes. Despite the clean and modern atmosphere and the visually appealing and tasty food, the inconsistency in the dishes and poor service with food coming in intervals left us feeling disappointed. We will not be returning. Sorry.

The Kung Pao chicken at this restaurant is both delicious and fresh. The pot stickers were crispy and flavorful. The service was excellent, with very kind staff members.

Very clean and friendly service, best chinese food in the area.
