What Anna Z doesn't like about Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches:
My husband and I would go there every two weeks after our shopping trips but boy are we disappointed now. They changed out their steak fries to the coated kind which we hate! Why do restaurants feel the need to change out the fries? It doesn't taste or look real anymore! It has a greasey taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, the hot dog is not the only draw for us. We won't be back! View all feedback.
In the modern era of Gastronomy, aspiring chefs often cut their teeth via the grandstands of tik tok facebook, all in attempt to find acceptance gratification. But for some, time honed traditions of culinary mastery preside through generations of perfection, where acceptance becomes inherent pride is earned through exhausting efforts to master the art of grande manager. James John's is the last of these institutions. The last of a dying breed of artisans that crafts sandwiches using French charcuterie methods unknown to the modern world, reminiscent of ancestral Germanic cuisine. James Johns, best known for their natural casing galantines serves up a mastery of succulent dry aged sausages flecked with bits of Americana cheese and topped with quail egg. It's a must try for those visiting the Philadelphia area.
You know you 're doing it right when you 've been around since 1940, you 've had a horrific fire, rebuilt this iconic spot, and you 're STILL going strong! If that doesn 't scream America I don 't know what will. Now who doesn 't like a hot dog, or sausage ? They even have more to their menu than just dogs by the way. If you are one of those who look past all of this thinking it is a Hot Dog , why should I bother with it? If this should pop in your mind then you are 1 of 3 things. You 're either a communist, you hate your grandparents, or you hate cute little puppies and kittens. Oh I am just kidding, but seriously you gotta give it a shot. The history alone ,and plus the model trains in here , with a train that goes around the interior will have you feeling like you 're a kid again. I mean sure you can go to your nearest convenient store , grab a dog off that roller, and give it a shot on a potato bun if you 're lucky. Maybe just maybe the next time you 're at the ball park cheering for your team on dollar dog night at the game. Oh yea that is what I am screaming, all those hot dogs in a insulated stainless steel box getting all soggy. Maybe you like waiving your hand to get a dog, or standing in a line for something that 's about to expire the next day. Hey just go in there grab yourself a Chili cheese dog, and no this is not that Hormel Chili slapped on there. My friends, you can tell this actually homemade. Ok I will not force anyone to enjoy a meal in Jimmy J, but it is worth the trip. The History, the dogs, those model trains, and the friendly atmosphere is what you 'd expect .

Always a go to when we are up in the area once a year during the holidays. Food is basic, but tasty and the decor was made for kids.c multiple trains running from top to bottom, quarters make some of them go so make sure to have some. Staff were mostly friendly, one kid working the register clearly didn't want to be there. The Maryland crab soup was loaded with crabs and vegetables. Onion rings are always a winner. The frankfurters that they're known for are ok at best. We'll be back cuz it's tradition but not really a can't miss when in the area.
Stop here all the time for lunch. Frankfurter is awesome. Fresh hot sauerkraut. Decent burgers. Love their French fries with vinegar! Cool vintage place with lots of history
