I went here for a Thanksgiving meal and the food was amazing! So much variety and a lot of food. My family and I also love going here on Friday afternoons for their half price appetizers and specials. We share a few appetizers. The flying monkey cocktail is amazing and a third of the price on Fridays! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Granite City Food Brewery:
Choice of food was minimal. No croissants were ever available. Eggs were mixed with potatoes etc. not a good option for kids. Fresh fruit other than melon was non existent. Omelet, eggs Benedict line was always long. Took half my reservation time to get an eggs Benedict and was never asked how I wanted the egg cooked. Lack of desserts was awful option. Received a couple bite sized bars. And what was it with the honey... View all feedback.
The Mother's Day Brunch was a great idea but in my option it didn't go as smoothly as it should have. You are allowed 1 hour after your reservation time to eat. You have to stand in line at least 10mins to get to the food, there were no plates available, had to wait on clean ones or run to the other side of the restaurant where the prime rib was being served to grab a plate where they ran out too, someone eventually comes out with a stack of maybe 15-20 clean plates, finally get to the food and there's no bacon, chicken, hashbrowns, eggs, salad, pastries so we had to grab fruit and French toast and sit down until they brought more food out. During this time the waiter still hadn't came to the table to ask our drinks and my grandmother was sitting there for that reason because the line was too long. So that's like 25 mins passed. We get back up to get in the long line again because finally food is coming out and as we stood there the waiter came to the table and asked her for our drinks. Now we're back at our booth so that's like 35 mins into our reservation that we could finally start eating! 3drinks came out. Food tasted good but for some reason I lost my appetite and left most of it on the plate because it felt rushed and I can't eat fast and it took the enjoyment out of it all. The waiter was nice but never came back with the napkins that was asked of him after he brought out the drinks. Never saw him again until he brought out the check and didn't give me a receipt. So $128.00 for only 3 plates(no seconds) and 3 glasses of sweet teas (no refills) is absurd!! Great place to eat but not during a special occasion such as MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH!!
Food was average roast beef not good eggs dry bacon not crispy of cooked fully macaroni was cold and lumpy fruit was marginal and staff had hard time keeping up with demand Waiter was nice but overloaded even though only had to worry about drinks

After I submitted this review below the GM reached out to me and apologized as well as taking full responsibility. Although I know it wasn't totally him. He wanted to make it right and gave me a gift certificate. I am very satisfied with they way this was handled and I do believe he will make sure next year is exceptional. Thank you! It was Mothers Day brunch and we knew it was going to be busy BUT it was not even close to being satisfactory. Food was cold or not anything left. I've never had a problem finding something I like but at this buffet I had to eat what was left because they ran out of so much. For what we paid I wish we would have gone somewhere else. I do eat there for lunch or dinner once in a while and the food is usually excellent. Just not on Mother's Day.
With it being Mother's Day and having a buffet overall it was extremely busy. Food was ok, bacon was fatty, line for the omelet station was long. $34.99 for basically the same food they would serve at regular brunch was crazy. Staff was trying their best, and our waiter was attentive.
