Today, I took advantage of a break in the rain to go for a quick bike ride. I ended up at Holly's restaurant. It may not have had any glamour or hype, but it was clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, especially the coffee. The service was friendly. What User doesn't like about Holly's Home Cooking:
My mother, son, and I went to the diner for breakfast and thought it was the best option. My mother enjoyed her breakfast, my son had the holly breakfast bowl, and my mother had a half order of biscuits and gravy. I ordered the silver dollar pancakes and a side of deep-roasted house potatoes. Unfortunately, they were terrible. Excellent sit-down restaurant, only with the workman/wife basic to breakfast, but makes powerful good. havent found a better cup coffee in dayton.
The gravy was really good now i ordered medium floppy bacon i get extra crispy bacon my eggs were overcooked but it's ok things happen.
Service was bad. Staff was very friendly. Food was good. Honestly would not go out of way to stop again.
I was a little disappointed that my BLT only had one small piece of lettuce and one small slice of tomato and they were both on one half of the sandwich but that half was good and they put a generous amount of bacon on.
Generous portions, fresh ingredients.We will be going back!
