What MG7641 doesn't like about Mortimer Cafe:
I really enjoyed my bacon and eggs, but was disappointed that there were no fresh cakes available for my friend who wanted coffee and cake. It would be great to see options like a Victoria sponge, carrot cake, a vegan or gluten-free option, and maybe a flapjack on the menu. View all feedback.
The original Mortimer cafe is a classic greasy spoon, in a positive sense. The new location across from the Co-op is an improvement, offering a wide selection of fresh food, delightful service, and convenient opening hours. Although slightly more expensive, it is worth the price. They also serve the best flat white in the area.
I am grateful that there were plenty of tables available at the restaurant, as it was quite busy. Our drinks arrived within a minute or two, followed by our food just 5 minutes later. The portions were very generous, particularly the big breakfast which completely covered the plate. I highly recommend this cafe and will definitely return when in the area.
This is a fantastic restaurant with delicious food at a great price. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
I stopped by to grab some takeout lunch, and the staff were very patient with my son who couldn't decide what he wanted. The baguettes were delicious and fresh, and the restaurant had a busy yet warm and inviting atmosphere. I will definitely be returning.
