The best place for a delicious barbacoa and chilled Modelo any day and time! Service is prompt and the front line employees are often better than their manager (Westgate, Weslaco). The location on Westgate in Weslaco has had a nasty sewer smell which has never been addressed. The odor is so bad that it hits you smack in the face as soon as you enter their premises. Other locations do not have this issue and much more... View all feedback.
What Brittany Chavez doesn't like about El Pato Mexican Food:
Drove from Elsa, walked in to order 5 breakfast tacos since the drive thru was packed. Walked in with the mindset of having to wait since they were busy which was fine. There were two people in front of me. The one right before me got hers first, she ordered like 20 tacos! The gentleman that ordered before her had to wait just as long as I did. 30 minutes for 5 tacos. I got back home and the order was ALL WRONG…This... View all feedback.
Been coming here for a long time, great food, great service but poor management. Management puts everyone else to work but themselves, they are always on their phones and getting after the staff. They should be working instead of talking about people. Rosie was always the nice one she did a fantastic job. I went today 08-18-2024 to pick up an online order, I get there and staff is being rude and ignoring me. Jennifer and a guy named Bryan saw me in line and decided to go to the back and not even bother to ask me anything, Larissa as well she comes out from the back looks at me checks out the pickup orders looks at me again and leaves. Very bad attitude from managers and staff. Hendry was kind enough to help me out. I order from here cuz the food is good and it's closer to home but with staff like that is just not right.
The beef guisado Patos with avocado ? are phenomenal and never disappoint.
Customer service is dead! This place is NOT the El Pato of the late 90’s or early 2000’s. I would NOT recommend this establishment at all. I arrived at 10 am for breakfast. The dining room had 4 other guests. After placing my order at 10:04 we took our seats waited……. Waited, waited waited more. While waiting for our food to arrive I sat there and observed the staff go about their business. Not a single smile. Not a single greeting of guests as they walked in. It looked as though every single employee hated their job. Oh by the way. I am still waiting. It wasn’t until 10:37 that our two breakfast plates arrived to our table. 33 minutes waiting for two breakfast plates. This wasn’t iHop, this is El Pato. Maybe they had to butcher the pig to cook my bacon or pull the potato’s from the ground out back? Never have I had to wait 33 minutes for eggs and bacon while staring at unhappy staff members drag their feet around. As far as the food quality I will give them compliments there. It was delicious, just not worth the wait.

Not anymore, very disappointed.
