We found the Zwölfender restaurant, which is located a... read more On our first evening in Schierke, we wanted to find a restaurant not too far from our holiday apartment. We found the Zwölfender restaurant, which is located a bit outside the village. After finding the entrance on that dark, rainy evening – down a few steps to the side of the hotel – we were greeted by a rustic ambiance, nicely blended with decorative items from the Sixtielocks. The staff welcomed us and our dog warmly and thoughtfully, and seated us comfortably so our furry friend could slumber peacefully under the table. The menu was extensive and varied, featuring traditional German cuisine and game. All six of our meals were excellent; from the venison terrine to the rump steak and the Brockenblick mixed grill, we were very satisfied. Since my wife is allergic to pepper, the chef even checked at our table himself and served a perfect rump steak. For us, this is one of the best restaurants in Schierke, so we spent our last evening of vacation here as well. Kudos to the team!
