During our 7 days stay in Wernigerode we had dinner in 6 different restaurants. Resin blood definitely had the most attractive atmosphere and the best food. With regional theme fantasy names like “Mephisto”, “Beelzebub”, “Quedlinburger Schusterpfanne” Quedlinburger Schuhmacher frying pan or “Försters Garten” Garden of the Forester Harz and its legends are well represented in this cozy little restaurant. The walls were decorated with objects and black and white images of the region and the mandatory witch -off course - is available, welcome directly in front of the front door The very friendly waiter sat on the last free table for two at a weekday rather early in the evening. Each other table was either occupied or had a sign “reserved”. So if you want to go there, it is advisable to make reservations, especially during the holiday season! I had the Quedlinburger Schusterpfanne: cut calf strips with peppers, mushrooms, onions and spicy cucumbers. Loved the spicy roast potatoes baked with my choice! The dish was served in a cast iron pan on a wooden plate. My wife had a nice dish with chicken fillet, croquettes and fried vegetables in a sweet spicy tomato sauce. Both dishes were served with a mixed salad. Our desserts were also delicious. I had a fantastic vanilla mocha ice cream with marzipan parts, walnuts and whipped cream, while my wife enjoyed a crushed parfait with honey and heated forest fruits. We paid about 40 euros, two 0.5 liters of beer and a 0.4 liter of coke included. The resin blood is located at the eastern end of the wide street, a bit outside the center, but worth the short walk. By 6:00 you have to pay to park nearby a street! or 200 meters east in the parking lot, but then in both places it is free to park all night. Separate menu items for children. We will definitely visit the resin blood restaurant again if ever again in the city.

A bit out of the way on the wide street, on a warm summer evening we would rather sit outside on the main square in Wernigerode. But no complaints about food. Very German, top quality, good variety and very helpful staff. Very good value for money. If the weather is bad and you can't sit outside, go to the resin blood.
