A phenomenal evening in this beautiful 2* restaurant. Pleasant and elegant ambience. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent menu-tasteful and optical masterpieces! Sensational ambience paired with ideen-rich delicacies. A professional wine tasting guided by a sympathetic top-trained service. I enjoyed the sunset on the horizon, which can be seen through the panoramic window. Now I understand the difference between one and two stars.
The 2nd Michelin star is more than deserved! Since March 2020 Mr. Obendorfer was awarded his 2nd Michelin star with his team, we were here for the first time. The kitchen has become much more refined and tasteful since last year. We chose the 7-course menu with the kitchen ridges it was over 10 courses and were surprised from gang to gang to new ones. The recommendations of Sommelier Mr. Pech were optimally matched to the dishes and the overall service was very friendly and professional. It was an absolutely enjoyable evening and we are looking forward to the next visit at a distance
The Oberpfalz slowly develops into a gourmet hotspot. The ice bird is an indication. Excellent cuisine and stunning wine selection. The whole thing in a very elegant setting and finished is a perfect evening.
Obendorfers Eisvogel belongs to the 4 S Resort Landhotel Birkenhof and is awarded with 2 stars in the Michelin guide. The 2nd star is still quite fresh and was only awarded in March 2020. The ambience is modern and cozy, in the middle of the room is the large walkable wine storage. The number of tables is manageable, sufficient distance also in Corona times between the tables is provided. There is a beautiful panoramic view and a fireplace on which wood is regularly laid. The food to choose was a 6 gear menu (or optionally only 5 gears) was a dream. The intercourses were actually 9 courses. Especially in memory, the raw Wagyu Rind has remained as one of the appetizers, butterfly, simply saulecker. But also Loup de Mer and the duck breast as the main course were perfectly fried and prepared. We were thrilled by all the corridors. But of course, expectations for a 2 star restaurant are also high. The service was also perfect, there was nothing missing, you took care of the guests, was very friendly, drinks were always refilled. It must be that way! The only manko was that it was allowed that our bread basket had become empty, without having to go. This must not happen, but is also a high-level complaint. It was in total a beautiful and perfect evening that we spent at the Obendorfer Eisvogel. As a reminder of this evening there was a menu card signed and personalized by the chef Hubert Obendorfer. And to farewell on the occasion of the 2nd star award a current Michelin guide. We can recommend Obendorfers Eisvogel clearly and will definitely come back. Free parking is available in front of the hotel, card payment is accepted (but not AMEX). Without timely reservation a few weeks in advance, it is almost hopeless to get a table.
We were in Oberndorfers Eisvogel for the first time. It was a culinary fireworks! Have chosen us for the six courses variant. About asparagus, first-class lobsters, an excellent organic hendl went to the moat with mispel, cauliflower, green almond with coffee. There followed two courses, namely Taleggio and then elder blossom and Rhabarber. Finally, a last, fourth greeting from the kitchen followed: Petit Four in the form of chocolate chess figures on the matchbrecht, mill and man-eger-dich-not-figures. A really good evening!
