Yesterday I was 2 with my 11 birthday guests. Let's go. Everyone praised the food, despite the order a la carte came the food quickly, the service was friendly and in between asked if everything is correct. We like the original ambience very well. The old oven from the past and the mill in the basement are well preserved and there are lasy seating areas. Everyone has already invited for the next year. The homemade po... View all feedback.
What André Mohr doesn't like about Restaurant Neuemühle:
On Sunday we ordered a piece of apple cake in the new mill. The cake was so old that he tasted more for bread than after a cake. After the first eaten fork we have charged and returned the cake during the operation. Our surprise was great when we had to find out that the cake was charged to us. The service has passed on payment. We cannot recommend this place at all and we don't go back there. View all feedback.
We booked by telephone to eat here late one Sunday afternoon recently prior to going on a nice long walk in the woods close by. We arrived a little late but this was no problem as around 17:30 the place was almost empty. We had a table close to the kitchen which was OK. The highhair for the little baby girl in our party was alread set up fr her which was great. We all needed drinks to quench our thirst after the walk. I thankfully downed a good glass of Veltins Pils beer before I get focus on eating anything.Service was informal and friendly. Choosing from the menu was a slight challenge as the offerings were rather unconventional. As a starter we decided to share homemade potato bread with two tiny pots of dips. For my main course I chose the so-called "Bergisches Krüstchen" which was a pork schnitzel with bacon, onions, cheese and a fried egg all presented on two slices of potato bread. To be honest I found it to be surprisingly uninteresting and quite dry. Unusually for me I didn't finish it completely. For dessert I liked the sound of "Knackige Versuchung" - a sort of crispy temptation comprising vanila ice cream with Baileys, caramel and cream. This was nice. With tip this whole experience cost me a round 100 Euro. Given the fact that the rest of the family found the dining experience here to their liking, notably the friendly, good natured service I'm happy to recommend this place for those wanting to top off their walk in the area with traditional local food.
The Neuemuehle is a popular restaurant destination for walkers and bikers in the hills and woods of the Eifgenbachtal. During sunny weekends this is causing a corresponding challenge for the service team ... Sadly the young team is not up to the mark. The organisation...and service quality is not the best, sometimes rather poor. However, the friendly team is making an effort to cope with the situation. Food is simple but delicious. And I love the rustic location with a heritage building. Therefore my overall rating is still very good with a trend to average
There are many opportunities to hike through the Bergisches Land. One good choice is the Eifgenbachweg from Odenthal to Wermelskirchen. If you want to try this, our recommendation is to spice up your walk with a lunch or dinner at your destination at the Neuemuehle,...a former water mill. The young team offers new variations of the traditional local cuisine. Try a regional Landbier and one of the potato dishes. The quality is usually good to very good, the service is very friendly but not always professional ... Prices are not cheap but fair. The atmosphere in the historic building is great.
