This place is so brilliant!!! Didn't live far from here and never knew it existed. We had bacon double cheese burgers, fries, cheeseries, root beer and strawberry shakers. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I'll be back!!! Drilled that it is so close View all feedback.
What 2Betty L (3 5 years ago on Google doesn't like about Pete's Drive In- Wentzville:
Food portions are small for prices paid, temperature, taste, and freshness of food was average at best. The service is laid back/slow, so if you're wanting to wait a while, then this is just the place for you. If you're expecting prompt service, fresh tasty food at reasonable prices, or not wanting/having time to waste... I suggest seeking a different venue altogether. View all feedback.
The food portions are small compared to the prices, and the temperature, taste, and freshness of the dishes were just average. The service is slow and relaxed, so if you don’t mind waiting, this might be the right spot for you. However, if you're looking for prompt service, fresh and delicious food at reasonable prices, or if you don’t want to spend your time waiting, I recommend finding another place to dine.
I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with just lettuce and tomato, but I got it with ketchup instead. At least they remembered not to add the Pete's sauce. Unfortunately, the burgers lacked much flavor beyond the ketchup and bacon. The fries were good, though. When my food arrived, it was warm but not the hot freshness I was hoping for. Overall, it was just okay.
This place is fantastic! I used to live nearby and had no idea it was here. We ordered bacon double cheeseburgers, fries, cheese fries, root beer, and a strawberry shake. Everyone loved their meal. I can't wait to return—I'm so excited it's so close!
This was my second choice, the other local breakfast place was very busy and had a wait. Being the organic, vegan eater that I am, this is not a place I could eat at very often at all But my husband, who is a farmer had a great appreciation for this place. He had the ham, hash browns and eggs. Standard and he enjoyed every bite. My cinnamon roll wasn't vegan at all or organic for that matter but it tasted good. I don't even know if it was homemade and possibly microwaved. But, the atmosphere, owners local patrons are what makes this place 5stars. We appreciate small, local business and we left full and happy. It's a go here, it's the nostalgia, they've been in business 51 yrs.
Nothing fancy, but all good. The crunchy onion rings really hit the spot today!
