Was Alex Powell at The Lowfield Inn a mag?
My husband and myself had the opportunity to eat here a couple of weeks ago. We ate dinner on two different occasions. I have to say the food was gorgeous!!!! I had the vegetarian options and my hubby had a fish starter and then meat dishes. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious. It was lovely to have vegetarian options that weren't spinach and ricotta or risotto we would definitely return, thanks. View all feedback.
What Graham Anderson dislikes about The Lowfield Inn:
Visited as a birthday treat, having stayed yrs ago and very much enjoyed it. What a difference yrs makes....!The sign advertising chef wanted' should have been a warning. If only we'd be warned beforehand.Ordered full english. No choice given of how to cook my egg, it came fried. Potatoes served whole, not sautéed. NO BAKED BEANS! Visited as a birthday treat, having stayed yrs ago and very much enjoyed it. What a difference yrs makes....!The sign advertising 'chef wanted' should have been a warning. If only we'd be warned beforehand.Ordered full english. No choice given of how to cook my egg, it came fried. Potatoes served whole, not sautéed. NO BAKED BEANS! Asked chef where the beans had gone, to be told they didn't have any. Bacon dry like cardboard, tomatoes disintegrated onto plate. My month old's porridge was cold, my wife's scrambled egg was cool and watery. Coffee from Nescafé powder served in a mug. No pot of filter coffee like before. Very poor for price tag... Upon leaving, wasn't asked if enjoyed my stay. Saddened to say we won't be hurrying back again. What's gone wrong...
I don't even know where to begin with this review. The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The bar had a great selection of local ales that were well maintained. The menu was extensive with delicious dishes that were freshly prepared and absolutely fantastic. The staff were intelligent, polite, friendly, and on top of everything at all times. The breakfast was a freshly cooked full English, made to order from a wide range of options, and cooked perfectly both mornings of our stay. I have no doubt in giving them a 5-star rating. This is the best pub I have ever stayed at.
We had a wonderful Sunday dinner at this restaurant with a variety of tasty dishes. The food was well cooked, nicely presented, and served hot. The staff provided friendly service with a smile. The dining room was spacious and not overcrowded. And to top it off, the desserts were beautiful. Overall, it was definitely worth the trip.
Visit the lowfields regularly and always have a great meal. the food is freshly prepared and is presented beautifully. portions are very good. and so a good selection on the menu. the staff is polite and happy. the interieur is clean and has a beautiful, welcoming feeling for it. a 5-star service .well did youngs and girls .
We sung here at a few places, but came for my father in 60th birthday celebrations on Sunday. eating was divine as always, never really go for a frying dinner as they never know, but that was the best beef dinner I had in very long time, mushroom starter was incredibly aa was the banana trifle, I don't make 3 courses, but I would have missed myself like I had not had pudding too! the service was error-free and even if it was extremely busy, the waiting and bar staff still smiled with our desire for birthday cakes (with the hardest to light sparkles of all time,) milk for the baby who had already looked at her, sauces and everything else. many thanks to lowfield inn for another special opportunity beautiful! never do anything different x
