This is my favorite place in the area. Generous portions, amazing seafood, and wonderful non-seafood options, too! I love the lobster stew, and the blueberry pie is a perfect dessert to go with it. When I'm feeling extra hungry, I'll get a baked potatoand some shrimp, as well. You really can't go wrong here. We love to sit at a table in the bar area and look out at the marsh -so peaceful!
A great place to start our Maine vacation. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about their dishes. The seafood was fresh and cooked well. Only complaint was the stuffing was heavy and prices were high.
Bill's Chowder House is a bit off the main drag but it not only offers a nice view of the backwaters and marsh, it's a great place to eat. Large party of 12 were seated for a late lunch around 2:00 pm on a Friday afternoon. Our waitress Brook wasfriendly and attentive. We started with a tasty rum punch. For lunch we had clam chowder, baked scallops, fish chips, steamedclams, and Caesar salad. Kids had a grilled cheese and chicken fingers with fries. The clams were fresh and sautéed in winesauce. The fish was light and crispy. The scallops were wrap with crispy bacon. Our overall experience was great and we'll beback
Food and service were excellent! Hubby had the fried seafood platter...very lightly breaded and delicious. I had shrimp scampi..light and divine! Plus, had live music and lovely views...highly recommend!
My cosmo was probably 4 thimbles in a tiny wine glass, not a martini glass. My husband's chowder, which he was really looking forward to, was more like a potato soup with milk and butter....tiny pieces of clam. And my small lobster roll lobster barely filled the standard hot dog roll. Oh! the beers were cheap as it was happy hour. Also, staff did not seem happy. All this for $75!! Never again, Billy's
