Large with spaciousness around isles and tables. And there are doggies allowed inside, which was cool. Their menu choices have returned. Everything was mostly good enough. (The only let down was the empty tables needing clearing or a wipe. It was busy so sitting at an uncleared, dirty table was the only option at a busy time slot. We cleared the dishes into half a double and separated them. (We both found the aoli la... View all feedback.
The atmosphere is vibrant, and there are plenty of seating options available. This restaurant is definitely one of the better choices in the area. The burger was outstanding—cooked exactly to my liking and reminiscent of Shake Shack back in the States. The bun was soft and chewy with a pleasant crispness, while the patties were tasty without being overly seasoned. However, the fries were rather unremarkable; if you're planning on having a lot, I recommend ordering a separate bowl instead of just the $5 add-on with your burger, as that will be much more satisfying. The fried chicken was well-prepared, but the batter lacked flavor, so you'll need to rely on the dipping sauces to enhance the taste. Overall, the quality of the food is solid.
Overall, it's a really cool spot for a few beers and some pub-style food. They have some excellent drink options! The food was quite good as well. We ordered the chicken burger and chicken bites, and both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Plus, it’s a dog-friendly bar!
A lovely bar, one of the Capital's most cherished breweries, @parrotdogbeer, has made impressive strides since its garage days on Vivian Street. Now styled in a distinctly 1970s retro vibe, it’s a family- and dog-friendly spot in Lyall Bay, where @parrotdogbar 'Nice' radiates a nostalgic kitsch charm while still maintaining a relaxed, DIY atmosphere. The journey began in 2011 with three university students named Matt, who quickly built a brand loyalty that supported crowdfunding efforts of $3 million. Despite their success, the founders' approachable and down-to-earth philosophy remains: come as you are, and we have a beer for you.
My east Wellington local. Great beers brewed on site. My doggie Moa's favourite pub! Shame they no longer do the Ruben sandwich.
Great place to go for a beer or food. Nice view out to the brewery really really friendly staff, great beer and best part they encourage dogs! So cool to have a place to go with your 4 legged friend. We'll done Parrottdog well done
