A friendly kitchen with a blues/jazz ambiance. We had beef short ribs over potato croquettes (with heritage yellow--not orange!--carrots as the veg) and a tomato-jam-and-bacon personal pizza, both terrific. Local wines and a small beer selection that included a very tasty stout. A casual atmosphere but nice attention to detail (stemless O wine glasses, nice table ware). Live music many nights and a small sidewalk pat... View all feedback.
What Gabriel Le Gall doesn't like about Stache on Main:
The music was good. 8 of us walked in and we more than doubled the crowd there. We were lightly chatting, and then told that we had to stop talking because there was live music. Have you ever been to a bar with live music and been told to stop talking? Well, we stayed until our drink was done and left. Nothing really more to report as we only stayed for one (extremely quickly consumed) drink. View all feedback.
Visited here twice while staying in Wellington and had a great time. Met lots of interesting people and fun chatting with the band. Definitely a must see in PEC.
Friendly welcoming attentive service. Great food. Unique decor. Located on Main Street of town. Outdoor seating available.
We had the jerk chicken and szechuan noodles. Both were smaller portions but perfect for us. The owner is lovely - please engage her to hear how the restaurant opened and the story behind the artwork. Would definitely recommend.
Visited as a group on August 5 as it offered evening entertainment. The restaurant is small, about a dozen tables and one large pine table with bar stools that seats about 16. I ordered the Short Ribs while others in the group ordered the jerk chicken, roti and spring pasta. The restaurant was busy so the service was slower, we waited about 25 minutes for the food. The short rib was fork tender and was very tasty. The scant few seasonable vegetables were only half cooked. While the food was good there just wasn't enough of it for $17. While it might be all piled up in the centre of the plate for esthetic reasons, when I can see more plate than food I am disappointed. More vegetables and some bread service or a small salad would have made it better. One of the party who had the spring pasta with shrimp found shrimp which had not been deveined. The roti and jerk chicken was well received. We didn't order dessert as they seemed overpriced and small. We were treated to excellent entertainment in the form of Angelique Francis and due to the size of the size of the restaurant was like a small intimate gathering. The sound was very good and we weren't blasted out.It was fortunate we had food at our accommodation as some of us left still peckish. Overall we just didn't feel we got good value for our money.
Pros: amazing entertainment, great local wine selection and cocktails, friendly and engaged owners, funky and intimate atmosphere. Cons: fills up quick (go early to get a seat especially if you are a group), gratuity automatically included and the staff don't always remind guests. Recos: go on a night when Spencer Evans is playing
