Maugus - Wellesley
Maugus
Description
This beloved downtown Wellesley diner blends nostalgic counter-service charm with reliably excellent breakfast and lunch—coffee, pancakes and cooked-to-order plates draw regulars and celebrants alike. Staff are generally warm and hardworking, service can be quick, and parking is available behind the building. Occasional drawbacks include inconsistent service from a few servers, spotty food faults (bland fruit, rosemary-heavy homefries, small meat portions), occasional pricing concerns, and rare order mistakes promptly corrected. Overall, a long-standing town favorite for comfort meals.

The fruit in Blueberry pancakes was tasteless. The iced tea tastes strongly of coffee (shared source cross contamination?)Meat sides are not a good size:value.Homefries have a strong rosemary flavor.
The food was delightful, and we were seated promptly. Although we had to wait 45 minutes for our meals, and the service could have been better, we would definitely return!
Drove from nh for Kaplan joint center. Got in 1 hour early. Hit Google for restaurant near me. Found this place. It is a hidden jewel for cleanliness and quality of food.
A charming, traditional restaurant featuring a wonderfully friendly waitstaff and outstanding avgolemono. I highly recommend it!
