The one word that says it all is 'Outstanding ' From fantastic decor, to great service. The food is maybe too big of portions. But it was sure good.It is a small chain, (3 locations) The two I have been too are, equally the same in all respects. View all feedback.
This place is amazing! You must visit! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the portions are huge! We will definitely be returning again and again. I might even consider moving in!
Wings were great and decent amount for the Wed night special. Very friendly staff.
Enjoy a great deal meals at the chop house . Service has always been attentive , personable, all involved doing their level best . Meals from the burger fare , pasta, meat cuts to individual preference . My foremost impression is of a staff who truly cares what they do . Have never had a meal I did not enjoy but also true have been impressed that if something was not right staff would do their best to correct it. Nith River Chop House on my list of dining out from children to seniors Outstanding

Great steaks and chops. Been there three times for dinner. All in the last week of the month. It was November and December of 2012 and January of 2013. We have never experience the service issue the other review mentioned. In fact, the service was great and friendly.<br/ <br/ Food, for a short review, it's very good and worth going back for.<br/ <br/ Now for a little longer version. First time we had a Stuffed Potato Skin for starter. Tasty enough but not too salty. Then we had Pull Pork Flat Bread and a Framer Platter. I remember I was thinking if I can get a big hot dog bun for that house made sausage, I would be in heaven. The pork chops were great too but that sausage is something else all together. On the other hand, I thought the Pull Pork Flat Bread was a little bland but still tasted ok.<br/ <br/ Second time, I had the 8 oz sirlion in blue rare, it was tender enough and the steak color was done just right. It was worth the money they were charging for. It almost, I said almost melt in your mouth.<br/ <br/ Third time, 8 oz tenderlion in blue rare. It was suppose to be better than sirlion, I would think, but I believe the chef has got a little heavy handed. It wasn't really blue rare enough but I still enjoyed the whole thing. Does it taste a lot better than the sirlion, not to my taste bud so I think I will stick with sirlion next time.<br/ <br/ For all three visits, one of thing that stuck to my mind was the way they cook their veggie. It was one of the best tasting veggie I have ever had in a steak house. Just boiled enough to be cooked but not cross the line to be soft and mushy.<br/ <br/ And we did have various starters in the second and third visit and all were very good especially the Traditional Dutch Croquettes. We also had a Grilled Flank Steak and Tomato Flat Bread. The portion was a complete meal on it own.<br/ <br/ Had their Warm Apple Crumble once and twice the Hot Fudge Cake with vanilla ice cream. The fudge cake is to die for. It's light yet have body but not sticky to the mouth. I would like to have a couple of them at a time but since it does have sugar in those thing, I managed to control myself.<br/ <br/ I do have two small issues though. Since I don't drink alcohol nor I care about soda pop I drink hot tea or coffee. The coffee I had wasn't very good even when it was a fresh pot. They give you Red Rose for hot tea. I think next time I will ask them if I can use my own tea bag.<br/ <br/ Another thing, they set the temp. at 72 degree F. It's a bit too warm for me especially after having a warm cup of tea or soup. It's personal choice, I do understand some people like it that warm.
