Was Andy Jäger at Jojo's Swamp Shack a mag?
First time at the new location. The food was fantastic! Service still needs some tweaking. Salad was brought out after main entree. We were seated in section with Karaoke. Hostess needs to ask if customers want to be seated in that section. The music was so loud we could not hear person next to us talking at our table. We left way earlier than planned... What Rayne V dislikes about Jojo's Swamp Shack:
They need to do some research on bar/restaurant lighting. They have the lights turned all the way up in the bar and front of the house, which does not set a comfortable and relaxing environment. The place seems bare, lacking decor and seems like they just threw some things in it just to open their doors. They just opened and could already be a candidate for the show Bar Rescue. I didn't realize this was the same restaurant located just off 204. It was my first time dining here, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. While I was a bit disappointed with the frog legs, I loved the alligator dish and I plan to come back. There are many items on the menu that I'm eager to try. I'm also pleased with both the prices and the service.
The food was great, although a few menu items were unavailable, likely due to the holiday season. Overall, the food was delicious, and the servers were friendly. They have a nice selection of beer and cocktails. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone craving good Cajun cuisine. There’s a pleasant outdoor area, some of which is covered, along with pool tables, dart boards, and a cornhole course. It's a fun place to hang out!
I spent $62.00 on takeout for five people, and unfortunately, the food was cold and soggy by the time I got home, just a 10-minute drive from the restaurant. It didn’t seem like it was cooked fresh. Charging 75 cents for a cup of sauce is outrageous! The person taking my order over the phone wasn't very friendly either. I seriously doubt we'll be dining here again. We're very disappointed!
As a visiting Cajun visiting other displaced Cajun, I thought I 'd see what these Alabama boys know about Cajun cooking. I have a few bones to pick, but bear with me please. We ordered shrimp poboys of which the bread was superb and comparable to what you 'd get if you came visit South Louisiana. The shrimp were under done. It was basically a gooey shrimp mess after 2 bites. The boiled shrimp were boiled to perfection which (in my opinion) is the most important criteria for boiling shrimp. It 's usually hit or miss, but you guys nailed it. You guys take a more SW Louisiana approach to seasoning the boiled seafood. In the Lafayette area, they sprinkle the seasoning on top of the seafood after it 's boiled. This is just wrong in so many ways, I cannot begin to convey. The shrimp themselves (sprinkled cayenne aside) were very bland and tasted like the water in which they were boiled wasn 't seasoned at all. The corn was the same way: absolutely no seasoning. I find that you guys are a little shy on the salt up here at all the restaurants I have frequented this week. Y 'all could make things a whole lot better by just adding a little bit of salt to everything you guys cook, especially the boiled seafood. All in all, it was a good experience. I use the term 'experience ' lightly as we used Door Dash as opposed to dining in. This could be the reason the fried shrimp didn 't hold up too well on the poboy. Would give you guys another shot in a couple weeks.
This place has great food, I appreciate good quality food and cooked the right way. Some people would not know good Cajun food if it slapped them in the face. I rate this restaurant as excellent and suggest everyone to give it a shot. They specialize in Fresh Food, so sometimes they might not have it in or is so good it is sold out. Try it , you'll love it !

The Gator was a bit overcooked, and the mac and cheese was somewhat bland. However, the frog legs and shrimp were quite good.
It was very expensive and not that good
Good food and friendly service
Great place to eat
Great experience!

There is absolutely nothing Cajun about this place. The first thing the waitress said was, "Before you order, let me tell you what we don’t have..." She went on to list French fries, green beans, Dr. Pepper, and several other items. I ordered the catfish po' boy, but it was far from Cajun and incredibly disappointing. They offered me a different side dish, but mac and cheese simply doesn’t pair with a catfish po' boy, so I declined it. To make matters worse, I was still charged for a full meal. I ended up paying $13 for a basic 6-inch catfish sandwich—definitely not Cajun! And just so you know, I’m from New Orleans. We will never return to this place again. Honestly, there’s a Walmart down the road; they could have gone there for the sides they were missing. Never again!
I understand that this restaurant is new, but I have never encountered a business that was so poorly managed. The server was unfamiliar with the extensive menu, and we waited an hour for our food, which arrived lukewarm. After finally getting our meals, we had to wait another 15 minutes for forks, leaving our food cold by the time we were able to eat. The bartenders were arguing among themselves and with the servers, and it took an astonishing 50 minutes just to receive my drink. Moreover, the food was overpriced and did not taste good at all!
