What Kayla P doesn't like about The Kings Head:
I visited the King 's head for lunch on Tuesday this week. As always the staff were fabulous, the girls really are welcoming and the service is always tip top! But can I please just suggest, whoever the wailing banshee is in the kitchen, just refines the way she screams at the poor girls who work there? It was quite busy, they only had 2 girls running around after the whole place and to be spoken to and screamed at i... View all feedback.
We received fantastic service from a welcoming team of staff. The three of us had a delicious Christmas meal from the carvery, which was very reasonably priced.
We stopped by the King's Head for lunch and found it to be very busy with no available tables. However, a kind local allowed us to share his table. The staff, particularly Katie, were excellent. The food was delicious and served hot, which is a plus for me as I can't stand tepid food. This was our first experience at this pub since moving to East Sussex, but it certainly won't be our last.
We stopped by this restaurant on a rainy Wednesday and were pleasantly surprised. Despite being full, the staff managed to find us a table in the middle of the bar. The menu offered a variety of options such as pie, roast, chili, and curry, but we quickly made our choices. I had the chili con carne, which was delicious and served with fluffy rice. My husband enjoyed the cottage pie with vegetables and extra gravy. We also indulged in apple pie with extra custard. The seniors menu had a great selection and we will definitely be returning as frequent diners. The bill, which included wine and beer, came out to less than £30. The home-cooked meals were fantastic and we are looking forward to trying the Sunday carvery soon.
Friendly staff. Very busy. Huge menu, chose the carvery. Great home cooked food, with everything you want on a Sunday roast! So full but really wanted the plum and apple crumble so I asked for a small portion they got me the childs one. It was still bit but also lovely! It's not fine dining, but great home cooked food with friendly, helpful waiting staff.
