Reviews - 6smith
Reviews summary
6Smith offers a compelling menu with options for vegans, including the highly recommended "bread is life" paired with chimichurri. Diners appreciate the vibrant outdoor atmosphere by Lake Minnetonka and commend the attentive service from staff. While many guests enjoy the exquisite flavors of dishes like aged prime rib and salmon, experiences vary. Some have faced long wait times and indifferent management, detracting from special occasions. Despite these inconsistencies, the lively ambiance and diverse culinary offerings make 6Smith a restaurant worth visiting, especially for those seeking delicious food and a great view. Reservations are recommended for a smoother experience.

Outdoor patio seating at season’s end made for a cool evening, but the extensive drink menu is more than capable of warding off the chills. We tried the salmon and the shrimp curry. The former was on the sweeter side but still savory enough as anentree, though it may curb a sweet tooth desire for dessert thereafter. The shrimp curry was fantastic each bite built theheat without masking the underlying flavors. Service was fair enough for the level of patrons. Food presentation is excellent.
I really wish I could give it 4.5 stars, because I do like this place and have been a few times. This is the first time I have had their bacon bourbon and I must say I was not impressed, it was bland! If I was to give them a suggestion they should put amaple or cherry glaze on it. They had a special with swordfish and overcooked it so it was dry, which is easy to do. The flavorswere at least good. The scallops, tartare and drinks were great! Service was good but food came slow, it took about 20 min afterordering our apps before they came out.
Very nice atmosphere. Excellent service as well. I found the food to be a bit underwhelming. The flank steak was very tough, the presentation was less than impressive. The hamburger was not as gourmet as one would expect for the price. More bread than beefand the cook on the meat was not as ordered. Unfortunately this was an average pub style burger at best. The salmon salad, however, was excellent. This dish impressed in every way the fish was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were fresh, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. The presentation was spot on. The prices are high rates indicative of a fine dining experience. For me, this was average. I simply feel I could’ve had a better experience at another restaurant for a fraction of the cost.
Totally enjoyed our visit to 6smith. Sat outside beneath the sun shielding umbrellas. It remained bright and sunny, while keeping the direct beat down from the sun off of us. My gal loved her salad, and the fries were great too. I had the scallopappetizer which was just okay (imho). Still, totally gets a recommendation

We went to 6Smith for lunch during restaurant week. Sat in a comfortable booth on the restaurant side with a view of the lake. Our food was phenomenal, and Lia provided some of the best service we’ve had in months. I’m trying to eat more plant based and 6Smith made it easy with roasted veggies salad and cauliflower salad. Vanilla flan rocked my world. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: The restaurant week prefix menu had some delicious vegetarian options. I particularly enjoyed the roasted veggie salad and cauliflower tacos. Absolutely amazing experience! I took my wife out and we enjoyed sitting on the deck with a beautiful view of the lake. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We'll definitely be coming back regularly!
I can't wait for this to open up. It WILL BE off the chain! This spot is the spot for the Summer. For all of those at WHS looking for some...
Unfortunately, we just experienced a rather disappointing meal. It's a shame because this is the third consecutive week we've dined there for dinner. We ordered the same dish as last time...

6smith offers a dedicated vegan menu, which is a great plus. The "La Flaquita" salad was good but felt a bit pricey at $17.95. The vegan "Bread is Life" comes with a tasty chimichurri dip that you definitely have to try. I've also tried the mushroom tacos and the ancient grains salad, which were just average. I appreciate that 6smith provides vegan choices on their menu. Be sure to end your meal with Sebastian Joe's sorbet for dessert! (Review updated on February 5, 2023)

I always enjoy lunch at 6Smith. The food, and service is always dependable. I also like a quiet place (Not easy to find these days) to relaxant and catch up with friends. 6Smith fits the bill.
It was my husbands birthday and we started off with oysters. I had the scallops and he had halibut. Absolutely AMAZING! Ended the night with the what seemed like a mile high piece of ice cream. Left with belly and hearts full! Very good
Everything was perfect for a family BD dinner. Even made last minute changes due to an addition of a high chair needed. Table decorated, special attention to the BD guy and excellent service not to mention the food is devine! To top it all off a follow up phone call to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Tina is awesome! Best birthday celebration! Thank you so much for the cake, and gift card!

Very nice atmosphere. Excellent service also. I found the food a little underwhelming. The flank steak was very hard, the presentation was less than impressive. However, the salmon salad was excellent. This dish impressed the fish perfectly cooked in every way, the vegetables were fresh, tasteful and seasoned until perfection. The presentation was on site. The prices are high prices that indicate a fine culinary experience. That was average for me. I just feel like that. ve had a better experience in another restaurant for a fraction of the cost.
Outdoor terrace seating made at season end for a cool evening, but the extensive beverage menu is more than able to prevent the cold. We tried the salmon and the shrimp curry. The former was on the sweeter side, but still tasty enough as a duck, although it can then curb a sweet tooth desire for dessert. The shrimp curry was fantastic, each bite built the heat without masking the underlying aromas. Service was fair enough for the level of patrons. Essen presentation is excellent.

Friendly staff, felt accommodated. Was served a dirty glass but no one is perfect. Venison burger was a little overcooked. Great view of Lake Minnetonka on a beautiful outdoor patio.
This place has absolutely amazing food. Coming fresh out the farm in ND I sure felt out of place but the food was amazing and the drinks were strong. The bottle of wine pictured was an amazing accompaniment to the blue cheese crust steak that was had. The steak tare tare was to die for and the bread was delicious. The 50 shades of chocolate cake was massive and well worth the price. It was moist and flavorful!
