They raved about the burgers, claiming they were even better than those from Shake Shack! I was eagerly looking forward to trying them myself when I visited on October 14. Joining me was my son-in-law, who works as a food service director, and my daughter, a professional chef. He couldn't contain his excitement over the burgers and went into great detail about them. He ordered both the grass-fed patty and the WFM mix patty, ultimately finding the mix to have a better flavor and texture than the grass-fed option. He also praised the bun, describing it as the perfect complement to the burger with an ideal ratio. Unfortunately, my experience was far from perfect. When I ordered, I was informed that they had run out of burger rolls and were substituting them with brioche rolls from the bakery. I couldn't verify this substitution with certainty, but what I received was an oversized, incredibly dry roll that completely drained the moisture from what could have been a fantastic burger experience. The staff should have communicated this substitution to me upfront, giving me the chance to decide if I wanted to proceed with it or wait for the regular rolls. I sincerely hope this isn't the standard for their burger offerings moving forward. In the end, I would rate this burger a 6 out of 10 on the BC scale. Everyone can have an off day, so I'm looking forward to giving the Whole Foods burger another try in the future. Stay tuned for my next review!
I recently visited Whole Foods' much-anticipated burger joint, which opened on September 17. My daughter and her family were so excited to try it that they went within days of the grand opening and raved about the burgers, claiming they were even better than those from Shake Shack! Having waited for weeks to try it for myself, I finally made it there on October 14. My son-in-law, a food service director, and my daughter, both trained chefs, were eager to share their thoughts. He had ordered two types of patties: the grass-fed and the WFM mix. To my surprise, he found the mix to have a superior taste and texture. On to the burgers! He praised the bun, saying it was the perfect roasted potato blend with an ideal burger-to-bun ratio—until I received my order. When I finally got my burger, I was informed that they had run out of their regular burger rolls and were using brioche rolls instead. I couldn't verify this incident, but the oversized, overly dry roll I was served certainly showed a lack of attention to detail. It completely robbed my burger of any moistness, turning what could have been a great experience into a disappointment. I firmly believe that the staff taking orders should have informed me about this substitution, allowing me the chance to make an informed choice. I hope this isn’t the standard going forward, as it left me unimpressed. Overall, I would rate this burger a 6 out of 10 on my scale. It’s understandable for a new place to have an off day, so I’m willing to give Whole Foods’ burger joint another shot in the future. Stay tuned for my next review!
