The food is ok! We ordered the hot and sour soup and it was warm not hot! The fish dry pot was excellent and the kung Pao chicken was also very good!our waitress was excellent . We visited this restaurant for a holiday dinner with a group of 10, and overall, it was a fantastic experience with delicious food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere—as always! The updates to our reservation were handled politely and without any issues. They serve an excellent 'old fashioned' cocktail. This is my favorite spot for Sichuan cuisine in the area; I've been here several times, and each visit has been consistently enjoyable! Meal type: Dinner.
The food at this restaurant was decent! We ordered the hot and sour soup, but it was only warm instead of hot. However, the fish dry pot was outstanding, and the Kung Pao chicken was also very tasty! Our waitress was fantastic. The only problem we encountered was securing a table. On a Saturday night, I called at 6:30 PM, and the hostess told me to come in because there was a table available. Upon arrival, I discovered there was no table ready, and with three hostesses present, I had no way of knowing who I had spoken with. The manager was rather unwelcoming and not very understanding about the situation. Eventually, we were seated near a workstation where high chairs were stored, so for ambiance, I would rate this place 0 stars! On the bright side, the service was quick.
Most frustratingly, she never brought a high chair for my baby, so I had to hold him throughout the entire meal! When we were nearly finished, she brought the check without a word or any follow-up. The only time she finally acknowledged us was when she picked up the check, offering a quick “thank you.” I left a 10% tip, which felt generous given the lack of service. Her name was "Steph." To make matters worse, the manager was stationed in front of his laptop the whole time and didn’t check in on us, even though he must have noticed I was holding my baby the entire meal. Quite impressive! I really hope Dan Dan takes the time to better train their staff before putting them on shift. I've been a loyal customer since their first location, but after this experience, I won't be returning. The service was very disappointing, especially considering there are many other dining options on Lancaster Ave and Main Line.
Came for the soup dumplings, and will definitely return! The soup dumplings were excellent. The scallion pancakes were a buttery, crispy delight. I also tried the Blue Christmas cocktail special and it was delicious! Make sure you don’t sleep on the sautéd Bak Choy either! SO good. I was presently surprised by the atmosphere. Everything is beautiful! We sat in the back room just as it opened for the evening and it was nice to have a quiet space separate from the bar!
