Today, one of my inhabitants, who is finally sick, came to the pub lunch in the punschowl, who was attentive and treated them like a royal and said her pub lunch was on the house. I cannot thank them enough for showing such empathy to others and screaming from the rooftops, which fabulous coworkers they have. my inhabitants often come to the pub lunchtime and the workers who accompany them are always full of praise.... What bsandrs doesn't like about The Devils Punchbowl:
Whilst the premises is in the ideal position for a stroll of the area, and the beer was fine, it was somewhat disappointing that there was no available food other than peanuts. As a group of five, we had planned a walk then beers in the garden and light snacks, fully appreciating that under current conditions, indoor eating would not be possible. Two real ales, contrary to their website saying that there would be more, good beer, though, bar staff somewhat lacking in personality, recently redecorated in the bar, toilets need some work.
Didn't stay there just met up with friends for lunch the prices were reasonable, the service and the food was not. We were charged for drinks we didn't have, the food was cold and the ice-cream must have been dished up 20 minutes before it arrived. It is a very nice venue just a pity they fell down on delivering a quality service.
Perfect for my requirements. Friendly staff, great food and very comfortable room
Arrived , couldn't find booking initially but wanted to let us know they were fully booked very sharp and direct . Room dated and really dirty. Partner made a cup of tea the milk dropped in a lump. There are stains down the wall. Dust on the floor etc bare wires exposed on the sealing , fire extinguisher on corridor floor loosely . I have photos .....
Went for a breakfast with my son but the nearest we could get was 2x toasted cheese and ham sandwiches add 2 x Lattes , toasties were ice cold in the centre and coffees were not up to much , however , we were charged £20.90 for this delight unbelievable , no wonder this country is in such a mess .
