It is important to note that we had eaten at the Sandrock multiple times after the 29th of September 2019 and this issue was never brought up before. The owner also mentioned that other customers had also not paid for their meals, hinting that it might be a common occurrence due to confusion among their staff about which till to use. This suggests that the restaurant should investigate their own staff regarding this matter. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unfairly pressured to pay for a meal we had already paid for due to the continuous accusations made in front of other guests. Despite enjoying their Thai food, we have decided not to return to the Sandrock due to the disrespectful behavior of the kitchen owner and the questionable actions of their staff. We strongly advise that you always ask for a receipt when paying for your meal at the Sandrock to avoid a similar situation where your payment is not properly recorded.

We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday after walking the dog and tried the lunchtime set menu. The Thai food was fresh and authentic, with very reasonable prices and friendly staff. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed a wonderful set lunch at this restaurant on December 28th, 2019. The food was hot, fresh, and incredibly delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. We plan to return soon, and we heard that they also offer take-out options.

Lovely authentic Thai food. Sadly we were the only diners today. Don't ignore this pub. It's well worth a visit.

As a pub The Sandrock had been closed for some time and reopened only a few months ago. Previously the restaurant was a regular pub type but is now dedicated only to Thai food. The decor appears very much as it was before it closed and shows virtually no Thai influence apart from one of those strange gold cat statues with one waving arm. The layout is plain, with tables lining both sides of the room and no alcoves and the lighting bright and not intended for mood-setting. But all that is unimportant as it's the food you go there for and it was amazing. From the shared chicken satay starter to the chicken and glass noodles and hot curry it was all so tasty and delivered all the heat and flavour I could have hoped for. The service was typically Thai. Ploy was our waitress and was polite, unobtrusive and showed simple charm, making our experience very pleasant. With the restaurant part of the pub you don't buy drinks from them but go to the bar and pay separately. This is only a small inconvenience but meant that the range of beers and spirits was better than most restaurants. A bonus however is that you can order takeaways and we saw at least 5 being collected as we dined, and this was a quiet night. So it appears to be gaining popularity and we definitely intend to go back as it's within walking distance and worth the stroll on a fine evening.
