Changing Perceptions
Description
Nestled behind the Godalming Museum, Changing Perceptions Café is a delightful community gem dedicated to charity, offering exceptional service from long-time staff. Visitors rave about the delicious paninis, aromatic coffees, and generous cakes, with many highlighting the friendly atmosphere and dog-friendly policy. While most experiences are positive, a new staff member has drawn criticism for poor service and coffee mishaps. However, the café's charm and commitment to quality keep patrons returning. With a unique blend of upcycled goods and a welcoming vibe, Changing Perceptions is a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.

Feedback
(From a visiting northerner) I was really impressed with the service here, staff went over and above to make my experience as pleasant as possible.
Some things never change, and it's wonderful to revisit them time and again. We may encounter new staff, but we didn't have any problems. What we did receive was a fantastic, large cup of latte coffee and a decaf americana, along with a freshly toasted, soft, and buttered teacake. It was a bit too early for one of their delicious house cakes, but we have tried the "new kid on the block" cafe down the road, and Changing Perceptions is definitely deserving of our ongoing support in comparison.
This small restaurant is a gem. The service provided by the young man working there was excellent. The panini I had was delicious, possibly the best I've had in a while. They also offer generous portions of cake, so make sure to save room for dessert.
I found that the staff members who have been working at the restaurant for years, including two older ladies and a young woman with colored hair, are exceptional at their jobs. They are kind, lovely, and couldn't ask for better service. However, this new staff member with dark hair is rude and shows no care for customers. She is extremely disrespectful to her co-workers and overall is a poor addition to the restaurant. Not only is she incompetent, but she also cannot make a decent coffee - who puts flour in coffee? I returned another day and the coffee she made was again lumpy and burnt, even though I just ordered a simple Latte. I am disgusted by her customer service and believe she should be fired immediately.
Wonderful tea coffee shop with great range of snacks light bites. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful, and my coffee was very well made. Ordered crumpets the first I've had in many years and enjoyed them. Planning to go back soon to try some of the other snacks and cakes, which looked very tempting... A real gem on the High St.
