The food was plentiful at all meals. The breakfast was continental and a cook breakfast- so you could choose as little and as much as you want. The lunches were tasty the fries were yummy (with cheese). I had fresh prawn sandwiches everyday. The dinner...was gorgeous, well cooked vegetables. Meat was tender and the puddings were nice. Due to Covid we tried to cancel out four night stay and get a refund, but because we had not taken out protection we lost the lot, tried to change booking, not interested. We filled out their on-line questionaire and they have gone silent. Needed...to cancel because of covid, hadn't re taken my travel insurance as we hadn't gone any where for years. Totally unsymathetic towards us so we lost so will not bother bookin... View all feedback.
Stay here. over night. great eating, many options always hot and great service. especially caroline was very attentive to our needs. good selection of breakfast items. some ordered from the kitchen instead of buffet style, but that was preferred for us anyway. stay in a standard room. the problem with the boiler was first quickly fixed while we were out. slightly moist smell in the room, but probably due to the recent weather and heavy storms means that people wet dumbbells blow all day. bathroom nice with shower and bathtub. all cleaned to a good standard. maintenance was nice. we were younger than many guests and felt that it had been a little more rich. we would like karaoke or magier or similar. comedian was terrible and we let a part through the set, but some seemed to find it funny. great entertainment team and loved the musical night. good selection of activities for the day made use of shooting, archery, swimming and playroom.
One of the reasons why we returned a few times in warner breaks is the combination of great customer service, great eating and good locations. we were in gunton now and twice were in one of the garden lodges - this time we have. for a standard room, that was a mistake. the standard room was actually quite small for both of us and my wife said she felt that the matratze was unpleasant, I didn't find it to be bad myself. we had a problem with the cleanliness of the room that was immediately treated, and I'm sure it's a way out. there were torn flowing in the bathroom and the heating looked like it had the beginnings of the rust on it, the bathroom fan was loud and seemed to try to give up steam from the bathroom. the bath is probably in order when they are slim when they are a more cuddly size, they find it a very narrow queue in the did. the main reason for the star rating was however eating. I will admit that I am a bit of a food and expect a lot of food - at our first visit in gunton that was eating amazing and so my expectations were high. first evening: tempura vegetable starter, cod chips and reduced mushy heap. that was exactly what I love about these rusty, eating was freshly cooked and tasty, the chips were the low point, but they were really not bad- simply not as amazing as the rest of the teller. my wife had a lamb that was perfectly cooked. Second evening: I skipped the starter when the day before I was too full to try a dessert so directly on the main course mossroom bourgignon. this was openly very bad, it tasted like this bulk food that had been frozen or chilled and reheated was not even so hot, but the mushrooms had no taste and the sweetness around them were equally dirty. the soße had certainly never seen a sniff wein and be honest like a dose sweet soup. I had the chessboard for the desert, that was simple but good. end night: my starter was an olive brushetta, that was stone cold (cold from a cold refrigerator) with fried bread and tomato that had no taste. to the main thing, fear to try something else, I went back for cod and chips. the minted mushy was as good as before and I love the house made tartare sauce, which is a real tasty bite that were chips as before, so they were ok, not brilliant, but no complaining. the fish seemed very dry this time and I suspect that they were kept hot too long, the bottom of the fish was quite hard to go and I left a good half of the fish on the plate. the entertainment was quite good, the secret has some amazing singers with a night running an abba set for about an hour without a pause, these artists meet every note during the dancing on the stage - that takes a lot of talent. the pantomime was just as good, enough bad sweat to satisfy everyone and again, musically very good. Bar staff were a bit of a mixed bag, some excellant, some might lack a little experience when they try to go the pists with their cocktail options. So it's with a heavy heart that I just stare forgiven, honestly, the workers are amazing and all the problems are really well treated, I feel like the accomodation would benefit from a bit of a refresh and there are definitely someone who can cook their socks out, but my experience was more mis than this time hit. we have booked breaks at other locations, as the warner offer is just right for us as a couple. would I return to gunton? likely, but it would be just for a garden hut, the standard rooms are not worth the small cost savings - we work hard all year round and for our short runs we are looking for an amazing experience.
This was my first time at any Warners resort, and I went with my parents. I didn't know what to expect but we stayed in a warm and cozy Cedarwood chalet. The food was good, with a couple of dishes being really enjoyable and a couple being just okay. The service was wonderful despite all the pressures they were facing. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, although there was sometimes a wait due to the busyness of the restaurant. They had mentioned they were short-staffed due to COVID. The entertainment was plentiful, with Elvis being particularly wonderful. The entertainment team worked hard and we had a great time swimming and participating in activities like shooting with the enthusiastic Rory. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as this wasn't really my age group or interest, but I went to be with my family and ended up having a lot of fun. Some people seemed to be looking for things to complain about, but I just took it in stride. Overall, I thought it was a great experience and I appreciated all the hard work the staff put in. Thank you and well done to everyone involved.
Our drink server tomas was great, extremely helpful and professional. a real asset for the company.
