I absolutely adore this restaurant and wish we could dine here more frequently. The staff is both friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable. The highlight, of course, is the incredible food! I really appreciate that everything on the menu is gluten-free, which is essential for someone with celiac disease. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Wauwatiki:
Eating is expensive for serving size! Chicken wings were very small and cooked over. The pig bell is good! Pina colada was not as expected. It is not mixed, but only filled with lots of ice. Burger was dry. Server wasn't attentive at all! Small nice clean atmosphere! View all feedback.
If you are looking for heaven on a plate or drink that will feel guilty of having dessert first, Wauwatiki is definitely the place! The service does not matter, and the ambience will forget you are in Milwaukee and not on the beach. It is so nice to know that it is all gluten-free and from a completely scratchy kitchen. The longer waiting period for food is definitely worth it. The menu has a perfect balance of salty, sweet, texture and melting quality! It is definitely not a stop and go, it is a great place for date night, friends night, or a beautiful escape from the long working week. Give it a chance and they will NOT be disappointed!
So yummy!! It was my first time at the Wauwatiki and let me tell you it was a great experience from the service, to the food, to the drinks. Delicious, quick, great deals, and all gluten free!! The staff was knowledgeable and so considerate when it came time to discuss dietary restrictions. The owner was even kind enough to introduce himself and ask how our meal was...when does that ever happen anymore! Totally a five star restaurant!! Cannot express just how impressed I was!
Had heard of it but hadn't been there before. Really nice place. I'm a rum guy, so it's actually a great place. Bartenders and staff were very friendly, and the fish fry and drinks were great. I'd recommend highly. You can tell the owners really care about their customers.
I started off my bachelorette party here last night and was not disappointed! I have celiac disease and we traveled from the suburbs of Chicago just to check this place out. When we arrived they were on a small wait but suggested waiting at the bar to start off with some drinks which was perfect! The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The water of life seriously gave us life. When we were seated our server was Marcus (I think! and he was AMAZING! So funny and very attentive. We ordered the nachos, frachos, and crack fries for appetizers and devoured every last bite within minutes. The entrees were just as delicious, two of us had the jerk chicken BLT which was delicious. One person had chicken wings which she said were definitely amongst the best wings she has ever had! The last two girls had the Hawaiian fried rice and the turkey burger which they both loved. The atmosphere was so cute and everything was celiac safe! Definitely want to go back, but better yet please open a Chicago location!!
Every time I’ve come here, I’ve had phenomenal service and the food is ALWAYS great. My boyfriend and I love it here and love the drinks and rum! We were told they’d be adding rum flights to the menu. Even though they weren’t available the next time we came in, one of the owners picked out a few rums for us to try. Not only that but he came over to our table from behind the bar and walked us through them. We learned so much and were blown away by the service. Everyone needs to check out Wauwatiki because you won’t be disappointed. Cheers!
