What Jeff Yates dislikes about Trader Gus Shell Athen's Gyros:
The extra pita bread costs just $3.50, which is a great addition when you visit this place. The gyro and fries are only $13.50, and with the affordable price for additional pita, it's quite a deal! View all feedback.

A few days ago, we stopped by to grab dinner for my husband, our daughter, and myself on our way home from work. We ordered three burgers, one fry, one lemonade, and two slices of pie, which totaled around $50. What really frustrated me was that my lemonade was packed to the brim with ice and had barely any lemonade in it—I don’t think you could fit another ice cube in there! I brought this up to the woman at the drive-thru, and she informed me that she couldn’t remove any ice and even if she could, she wouldn't be able to add more lemonade because they were supposed to put in a full scoop. I’ve ordered lemonade from them many times before, and it had never been that filled with ice! She was rather rude, and I found it quite cheap of them, especially after spending $50, to treat customers this way!

Today, I ordered two Athens Salads, two sides of gyro meat, and two Tzatziki sauces. When I arrived at the pickup window, I asked Marilyn for a little extra salad dressing, since our salads had been a bit dry during our last visit. She gladly agreed and informed me that the extra sauces would be included in the bag. However, when I got home and unpacked the food, I discovered I had received someone else's order—two chicken gyros and fries topped with feta and Tzatziki sauce instead of my salads. Although I was disappointed, I understood that mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant to inform them about the mix-up. I was transferred to Adam, the manager, and I explained the situation. To my surprise, he told me that customers are expected to check their orders before leaving the premises. I vaguely remembered seeing a sign about that, but it didn't seem fair to me. His response made it clear that they wouldn't be able to help rectify the situation, and our conversation ended there. At that moment, I decided that we wouldn't be returning, and they had lost a customer. Later, my husband returned home, and I shared my experience with him. Wanting to give them another chance, he called the restaurant and spoke with Caitlyn. Both of us remained calm and professional during our conversations. Caitlyn explained that they had this policy because some customers were taking advantage of them. She expressed that she didn’t want to lose my husband as a customer and offered to ensure we received the correct order on our next visit at no charge. This situation left me wondering why Adam did not handle the issue with the same understanding and willingness to help that Caitlyn did. Was it because I’m a woman? I also felt treated unfairly, as if I were being blamed for the mistake. Is it not the responsibility of the employees to ensure that customers receive what they've ordered and paid for? After a long day at work, I simply wanted to enjoy a nice dinner and unwind. Instead, I am compelled to share my experience through this review. It has definitely left a negative impression, and I’m uncertain if we will return. I believe it’s important for potential customers to be aware of how they may be treated.

The gyro platter was incredibly tasty and large enough to serve two people!
