Catrachos - Waukegan

I visited for the first time and absolutely loved it! The "pork cheeks" were the most delicious dish I’ve ever had. They were moist, had a nice smoky flavor, and were stuffed with rice, pork, potatoes, and carrots—sized more like a burrito. Everything was great! The restaurant is clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is quick. I will definitely be coming back!

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! As it was my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. The venue is small and straightforward, and it might not seem very inviting at first, but the staff is friendly and welcoming. Thanks to a friend from Honduras, I knew what to order. The Baleada looked a bit intimidating at first, but it was incredibly delicious. The pastlitos were outstanding, and the red tomato sauce was excellent. I did want to try a soup, but unfortunately, they were all out. Overall, the food was fantastic!

This is a hidden gem! For all the military personnel stationed at NAVSTA Great Lakes who are craving something different from Mexican cuisine, this is the spot for you! The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to explain the menu if you have any questions. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Just keep in mind that this is not a Mexican restaurant. The only drawback is that they could benefit from expanding their menu.

Great restaurant! Beyond the food, the service and attention to detail was excellent, I appreciate how attentive the staff was to take the time to check on us and chat with us about how we enjoyed us and the experience.

Delicious! I got a baleada completa and was very impressed. 10/10 would recommend.
