Visited Mé Lon Togo Bistro for a moment when we drove past and searched for a new place to dine. I really enjoyed the experience. I will admit, service could be considered quite slow, but the atmosphere was pleasant and the musicians were nice to hear. I really feel like I was in someone's house and they cooked for me against the normal restaurant Vibe. I enjoyed it, but I could see how others might not like it. The... View all feedback.
Delicious and unique cuisine. I came home for the holidays and the family went here for another culinary experience. This place is amazing! The food is high quality and carefully prepared. Everything is delicious with enough heat. The service was wonderful, not overcrowded us as we visited with the family and painfully decided what to choose enticed-all looked so good! This is the quality I expect from restaurants in Washington DC where I love and so a welcome surprise when I come to Maine. I look forward to my next visit!
Very pleasant atmosphere with live, quiet music. The Chicken Tagine was perfectly done with interesting flavors. They accommodated my food allergies creatively. My fellow diners enjoyed their meal as well. Good choice for foodies or a special meal. The owner and waiter are friendly and come greet you. We will be back.
Tonight was the third time we 've enjoyed Chef Benissan 's cuisine, and it was exquisite. The first had been in his Searsport restaurant, the first week it was open, and though the food was different and tasty, the service showed the disorganization of a new endeavor. However, the two most recent times we 've been to the restaurant here in Waterville. Both times, the service has been great and the food incredible. Each time, we 've had something different as an entree, but it 's invariably been marvelously different. The atmosphere is relaxed, and Chef Benissan makes each dish individually and from scratch. The live music has been an added plus not glaring and blaring, but conducive to an enjoyable evening, and not so loud as to make conversation impossible. Though serving portions may look smallish as they arrive at the table, I 've found that by the time the meal is over, I find myself so glad they hadn 't been larger or I 'd be totally hurting from eating way too much. Tried the palm wine the first time in, and haven 't been able to talk myself into trying anything else on the menu for drinks it is just SO good, it 's irresistable. A flat $35 for dinner may seem pricey, but not when you compare this price that includes all four courses (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert to other restaurants where you get charged for each individual item and where the total for four such items will usually be quite a bit higher. The total tab here, including drinks, is comparable to, or even less than, what we 've paid at the other great restaurants in the area (of which there are several Mé Lon Togo is the latest wonderful addition to be contributing to Waterville 's identity as a true foodie destination . We 'll definitely be coming back.
Went with a friend and truly had a blast. The live music was great, the waiters were lovely, and the food was definitely the best part about it all. Definitely bringing more Colby friends to Me Lon Togo.
If you're looking for a delicious and reasonably priced 4-course menu that showcases great attention to detail, head to Me Lon Togo! We began with the smoky, flavorful eggplant appetizer, followed by a lovely house salad. The Red Palm Nut Chicken and the daily special, Red Snapper Curry, both featured amazing spice profiles and were generously portioned. It was a delight to enjoy our meals paired with Kenyan beverages and Akpetessi in the heart of Maine! Thank you, Chef Jordan and team, for your attentive service and friendly smiles. The musician played an impressive array of songs on various instruments; combined with the cocktails, the atmosphere alone makes the restaurant worth a visit. However, we will always return for the fantastic food, exceptional service, and overall culinary experience. You should definitely check it out!
