Reviews - Shiris Kitchen
Reviews summary
Shiri's Kitchen offers a mixed bag of reviews from customers. While some criticize the lack of taste and authenticity in their dishes, others rave about the delicious Biryani and Dosas. The restaurant is known for its affordable prices and authentic South Indian flavors. Customers particularly enjoy the Veg dishes and weekly package menus. Though there are some minor complaints about packaging and ingredients, overall, Shiri's Kitchen seems to be a popular choice for those craving Indian cuisine in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.

Best Indian food you can find anywhere in This city. Their Biryani and Dosas are the best. You can't get anymore authentic than this if you are looking for Indian food. View all feedback.
What Gayathri Devi Ravada dislikes about Shiris Kitchen:
We ordered chicken Dum biryani and we went on Sunday. So they gave us chicken pieces mixed with white rice , no gravy nothing and no one calls that as a Dum biryani. And there is no taste, no salt , not enough spices. If you don’t know how to make biryani , don’t make it. And don’t sell it. Why are you wasting peoples time and money. I highly suggest not to go to this place. View all feedback.

Awesome Andra style food. You'll find authentic south Indian dosa and idli. If you are craving for biryani then this is the place to visit.
Goat Biryani is the main item to try here. It had the same flavour of Hyderabad. Reminds me of the home made Biryani.

This is the best Indian food I had in a while. I was visiting friends in Kitchener and wanted to eat Indian food one day and ended up eating here multiple meals during my stay. Their Goat/Lamb Biryani is most authentic one I had in long long time.Dosa is so inexpensive compare to other places I ate before and taste better. Try to eat it over there when it is hot.Staff are exceptional.
Authentic food, good prices. The veg dishes I had were prepared in the south Indian style and exactly the flavours I remember. There are several ways to enjoy their meals: Daily veg and non-veg lunch. Evenings and Saturdays you can choose from a selection of dosa and other specialties. Weekly package menus can be called or emailed in. This is enough for a week's worth of meals. Catering is also available for larger get togethers. The only reason I did not give full 5 stars is that the lunch containers are styrofoam which are not as easy to recycle in the region of Waterloo, you need to take them to the landfill. Next time I will bring along my own containers if that's not an issue for the staff.Keep in mind that while you can eat at Shiris Kitchen that this is primarily take-away and catering. This keeps your meals fresh and the small venue allows you to have a great price on your meal.Vegans, I would recommend calling ahead to confirm the veg special lunch of the day.

Had an amazing takeout lunch at Shiris Kitchen ! I always get their combo 3 with Chicken biriyani, vegetable, chicken curry, raitha. Is some of the best I’ve had ! Awesome food, nice and spicy, and very reasonably priced.
I had idli vada comboSambar was watery and the only reason to give it 2 star for
We went to this place as was suggested by one of my friend. We went for lunch and ordered chicken thali and Medu wada and mango lassi. Mango lassi was just delicious. The chicken thali came with chicken curry, one sweet dish, naan, rice and one veg curry. The chicken was very well cooked and spices were at optimum levels the only thing I did not like about the curry was they put in bell pepper in it along with some other veggies which was a made the curry taste more like veggies than chicken. Vada was crispy and chutney was mouth watering yummy. Might visit it again to try something else. The place was small but cozy and clean and it’s a self service restaurant.Parking: Parking is right in front of the restaurant and plenty of spots available.
The South Indian food really took me back to the homeland in one bite! Great place for any meal during the day!

Visited recently on recommendation from a friend. Wow what amazing food! Best mutton and chicken biryani that we had after we left India couple of months ago. True and authentic Hyderabadi Dum Mutton/Chicken biryani. The spice level was medium, just the right balance of taste and flavour. The tiffins are also scrumptious. Had Idly and Wada.I am elated to find Hyderabadi/Telugu food near to me. Met the owner Muralidhar Reddy, such a nice and polite gentleman. This is the original home cooked food in any Telugu kitchen. Will be back on regular basis. Really delighted to find such amazing Telugu food so close to me.
The food at this restaurant is delicious across the board, but I have to give a special shoutout to the dosa. It has the authentic taste of South Indian cuisine and is extremely tasty. The chutney and sambhar complement it perfectly. Shiri's kitchen is known for its high-quality and affordable food. Definitely a must-visit!
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The Biryani was delicious and the customer service was excellent. I mentioned that the mutton was really tender and they were quick to respond saying they would add more meat pieces next time. Thank you for the fast service and tasty Biryani.
I recently visited this restaurant that I had been wanting to try since 2020, based on a friend's recommendation for the best biryani in the KW Region. I ordered the Chicken Biryani for pickup and was not disappointed. It had a unique Hyderabadi homemade style and tasted delicious. The restaurant had a clean and casual ambience, though I did not dine in. I would definitely come back again. PS: If you like your biryani spicy, do not add raita. Overall, I would rate the food, taste, service, value for money, hygiene, and overall experience as 4 out of 5.
My first order today from this place, the chicken biryani was so perfectly cooked, rice so light and fluffy and chicken wasn't dry, it was perfect. I had biryani before from other places and sometimes their rice needed to be cook more! but here omg first bite and I was in heaven! Just wish a little less heat for the biryani though. I love spicy and medium hot. Mango lassi has the right thickness and sweetness and it does taste mango! I will definitely order again from this place!
