Contribute FeedbackMy Thai restaurant in Waterloo offers Mediocre food with small portion sizes and high pricing. While the service is decent, there are better Thai options nearby. However, for visitors looking for an authentic and flavorful Thai experience, My Thai can be a satisfying choice. The restaurant itself is cozy and casual, with friendly service and delicious dishes like Panang Curry and chicken satay. Overall, the food is tasty and portions are generous, making it a good spot for a casual lunch or dinner. A great place for anyone craving Thai cuisine in the heart of Uptown Waterloo.
My thai is a great place for inexpensive vegan Thai food, to eat or go out. would then love to add delivery options. make sure they want their vegan versions as they also have non-vegan versions of their menu items. our favorites are the pad thai, yellow curry and cocosnus sticky.
The appetizers were excellent, but the mains were terrible. We ordered an appetizer assortment for 2 $15) and it comes with spring rolls, coconut shrimp, satay chicken, shrimp chips, deep fried squid, and rice paper rolls. Everything here was very fresh and delicious. It's more than enough for two people! I saw some people ordering it as a main instead of an appetizer. My favourite was the coconut shrimp. It's a deep fried shrimp dipped with a shredded coconut coating. But the appetizer fooled us. Since it was so good, we thought the mains would be stellar, but unfortunately not. The mains also do not come with any rice, so you have to order separately. Mango chicken $13.25) I was hoping for something more than sweet and sour chicken with mango pieces. The name is very misleading. I was thinking more of chicken in mango sauce. The chicken was also extremely rough and overcooked. Royal scallops $16.25) The scallops were completely tasteless. It was like eating rubber. Extremely chewy, rough, overcooked, and no seafood taste at all. They must've washed away all the taste when washing them to defrost quickly. Pad Thai $14.25) The dish kinda had a burnt taste to it and it was not dry enough. Again, the chicken was very dry and tough. The restaurant is also very poorly designed. When you first enter, it looks like there are only 8 tables, but inside there's actually more tables. I saw a few customers come in and leave after they saw that the 8 tables at the front were filled. Overall 2/5. I would come back just for the appetizers, not for the mains.
Decent Thai food I guess, it 's probably considered the best Thai food in KW because there aren 't many other options around. Ordered the green curry and found out it didn 't come with any rice, so I had to pay extra for it. The curry tasted alright and came with loads of healthy veggies. However, I don 't think the value is worth the price they charge, especially considering that rice is extra cost. The total came down to $20 (about $14 for curry, $2 for rice)! I 'm definitely not gonna come back anytime soon.
Their curry dishes are pretty standard and good quality, we love the emerald curry chicken. Four flamed fish is another special dish I recently discovered here, though the portions are quite small. I had the thai iced tea on one occasion it is delicious. Probably the best I've had because many other places like to dump the sugar in. This one was at the perfect sweetness level. After coming here a number of times though, the service has been consistently meh. We've had a server who was attentive though had a bit of an attitude when coming with smaller groups (2 to 3) when it wasn't too busy. When we came with a group of 8 for a Sunday dinner, the service started slowing down as the restaurant started getting packed. It's a bit harder to get the waitress' attention when seated in the back area. The menu items are extremely pricey compared to other Thai places. Expect to pay around $13 16 for a normal Thai curry or pad thai dish, especially if you want to order rice on the side. The four flamed fish that I mentioned about is a whopping $17, and I recently found out you can get a higher quality and larger portion four flamed fish at Northern Thai in Kitchener for only $12, a huge price difference. Their decor and ambience are nice, but that doesn't justify the high prices, especially when the service is just satisfactory.
Excellent comfortable seating. The food was delicious as well and I had enough for a leftover meal the next day. I got the panang curry with beef and it was fantastic. The only surprise to me was that you had to order time separately for $2.50. Who eats curry without rice or bread?! I would definitely come back. Good for family and dates.
