Steak Potato - Waterloo
Steak Potato
Description
Tucked into an outlet mall food court, this casual counter offers big-flavored burgers, crispy chicken fingers and a Philly-style cheesesteak that can be hit-or-miss. Guests appreciate easy parking, reasonable prices and grab-and-go convenience, but inconsistent execution—cold rolls, sparse fillings, soggy fries—and thin staffing slow service and dull the experience. Menu items (potatoes, coleslaw) have disappeared without notice and napkins may be omitted, yet it remains a practical stop for shoppers seeking a quick, comforting bite.

This place is really disappointing. I ordered a broccoli cheddar potato, paid for it, and then found out there was no broccoli in it. They should have checked the order before ringing me up. For almost $8, this is what I received, and to make matters worse, the potato tasted sour. I took one bite and had to throw it away.
I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant, but I was quite let down. They didn’t have any potatoes, which was surprising given that it’s right in the name of the place. They also informed me that coleslaw had been discontinued, even though it’s still listed on the menu. To top it off, when our food arrived, we weren’t given any napkins, which is definitely necessary for burgers and steak subs. I left feeling very disappointed. While the steak sub I ordered was decent, I don't think I’ll be returning.
We’ve ordered from this restaurant multiple times, and each experience has been delightful.
The burger really surprised me with its size and flavor; it was quite delicious. The chicken nuggets were acceptable, slightly better than McDonald's. On the other hand, the fries were a letdown—cold and a bit soggy. I was curious as to why the nuggets were hot while the fries weren't. I might think about trying this place again on a day when I'm not in the mood to cook or drive.
