Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant under review seems to have mixed feedback from customers. While some found issues with reservations and slow service, others praised the food quality, ambiance, and friendly staff. The menu offers a variety of options, with standout dishes such as the mushroom ravioli and the make-your-own-waffle station at the breakfast buffet. The bartender received special mention for going above and beyond to accommodate a customer's drink preference. Overall, it seems like a hit or miss experience depending on the individual visit, but those who enjoyed their meal at Proof were thoroughly satisfied with their dining experience.
Our group of four went to breakfast and it was a very bad experience. we were asked to order cash before we take one seat, that is good, but the personal would not even make eye contact. after 10 minutes to be ignored, I was finally able to order. it was really not that busy, honest! 3 members of our party did not get the food they ordered. After our food came, I had to go into the bar to ask for the coffee we ordered when we put our order first. I went to the cash to pay the bill and was ignored again. the personal seems to avoid customers only. I saw how they did it to other people, and I will say there was a woman who could have been a manager who was friendly and seemed hard to work. she deserves a credit to try. at the end we were served on a Hamburger-Burg with speck and crushed into ketchup. it was rough. the side potatoes were good. for this experience we paid $90. my recommendation is to go tim horton for better eating and service. when they go here, they will probably leave angry frustrated.
The food was disappointing. quality and quantity wise, but the waitress was very good, the atmosphere was good, dj was great. I ordered the coastal risotto on the suggestion of our server and my dinner partner ordered the cider brined chicken supreme. for me the risotto had an unpleasant taste, and the seafood in the meal were not fresh in my opinion because it tasted what fresh seafood does not. also the salmon in this order was really overcrowded...dry and tasteless. my diner partner was friendly enough to change plates when they saw my disappointment with my order and they said that it had a little strange taste. I ate the exchanged eating, the huh was really pretty good buying the portions that accompany the meal were very much to me. the shed kartoffels were perhaps four forks in quantity and the accompanying vegetables were also meager. show many empty plates. the dessert had old fashion sponge toast as core. this sponge toast was quite hard and unpleasant to chew. older customers take care of themselves. if you were gums for meal times that cost more than $30 when a tip is added, I expect better and more. I've already eaten here, and it seems to me that eating was a lot of worth.
The food was great, many gluten free options and reasonably priced. Services exceptional and atmosphere was perfect for a nice family dinner.
I love travelling to Waterloo for business because I can stay at the Delta and dine at proof. Another visit that didn’t disappoint. The calamari and bao were delish. Their version of a espresso martini is great…just can’t remember the name. I will be back!
While the atmosphere is great and the server was attentive the food lacked taste, flavor and overall disappointing. I had high expectations given the location of the restaurant and menu prices but sadly it did not deliver. Won't be going back.
